God calls us to open the door, make room at the table,
and create spaces to foster lasting relationships with Jesus Christ.

Leviticus 19:13-18
Galatians 5:1, 13-26
"That Neighbor Thing Again"
by Rev. Paul B. Thompson

This Sunday is Graduate Sunday. We will honor our graduates at our "drive-in" service at 9:30, not 10:30. This time change will continue throughout June as we anticipate warmer temperatures going forward.

Graduates, please arrive by 9:00 a.m.
We are following the recommendations of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist church and not holding any services in our building. We will continue holding outdoor services throughout the month of June. We will post more updates as they are available.

We offer two services. Our 8:30 service is a "traditional" service and our 9:30 service is a "contemporary" service. Both services are streamed live on our Facebook Page and our Website . Our 9:30 service is a "drive-in" service, held outdoors. You may come and remain in your car, or bring a chair and sit in the parking lot while maintaining social distancing. We encourage you to wear your masks.

This Sunday's bulletins are available on our website HERE .

Past sermons can be viewed on our website HERE .
Serving the Community
We cannot look away. We must take action.
We must confront the uncomfortable.

Brad and Anne Mitchell have started a book discussion group, which is open to anyone interested. They are discussing Ibram Kendi’s book, “How to Be An Antiracist.”

They meet on Sundays at 4pm at Huntersville United Methodist Church outside under the breezeway (bring your own lawnchair). Zoom will also be available (RSVP for link).

They started last Sunday (May 31) with an introduction to the topic and getting to know each other. This week they will begin discussing the opening chapters. Note: the book seems to be in short supply locally and online. You may purchase the Kindle version on Amazon  HERE .

From Brad and Anne: Everyone is welcome! Please invite your neighbors and friends. We are by no means experts on this topic but are interested in learning together.
RSVP to Anne Mitchell:
Food Pantry Needs
  • We need paper and plastic bags. We do not need egg cartons at this time.
  • Food items: canned fruit and canned meat
  • Non food items: laundry detergents, household cleaners, bar soap or toothpaste
  • If anyone travels and has unopened travel size toiletry items they would like to get rid of, we will gladly take those.

We appreciate the continued support of our church family and the community as we   navigate our "new normal.” If you have any questions, please call or text Wanda Kerns at 704-608-3821.
We are still collecting coupons and sending them to an Army base in Germany. Last month’s mailing was only 1/3 of what we normally send. Please continue to save your coupons. You may drop them off a the church any time. There is a plastic bin located outside the main entrance. Thank you.
