This Sunday, March 3
Transfiguration Sunday
Luke 9:28-43

We welcome Walt Edwards back to HUMC this Sunday. He will sing for us at both services. Walt has been singing gospel music regularly since the early 1990’s. He is a member of the Revival Trio who sang for us in November. Interesting note: Walt was a student and a volunteer teacher’s assistant of Wanda Kerns while in middle school. They reconnected after 30 plus years, when he was here in November.

What we know from General Conference
This Sunday morning, March 3 at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall, we will discuss the results from the recent General Conference of the United Methodist Church in which they dealt with issues of human sexuality. There will be a short presentation of the actions that were taken, and a word from your leadership about what this means for the future of Huntersville United Methodist Church. I know that this subject is difficult, and we will not have adequate time to fully engage it on all levels. However, we think it is important that you hear from your leadership how we plan to proceed. All are invited to attend. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
An Invitation from the Metro District of the WNCC : With the close of the Special Session of General Conference, Bishop Leeland will gather with Metro District for a time of worship and Holy Communion on Sunday, March 10, 2:00 p.m.  at Assurance UMC in Huntersville (9700 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd.)

Lenten Series: Behold the Man!
Our Sermon Series for the season of Lent is "Behold the Man." We will explore a God who: hungers; is beaten; is exposed; a God with a mother; a God who thirsts, loves, bleeds, dies, and rises.
The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Our Not Here Ministry team will host a pancake supper beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. A love offering will be accepted.

Our Ash Wednesday service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the first sermon in the series,
"A God Who Hungers."
Best Wishes, Tommy!

Thank You!
Bingo was a huge success with 135 attendees of all ages! The night was full of joy and excitement, especially for those lucky enough to shout “BINGO!" Many thanks for all the delicious desserts & everyone who helped in making it a memorable event for all. Special thanks to Kevin Franklin, Hank Brower, and Tracy Morrell for leading Bingo and prizes, and the children of Club 3:16 for serving over 30 Rocky’s Pizza pies to our guests. We raised over $900 for our Thrive! Campaign.
Thanks again for being part of our church community!
