HUMC Ministerial Education Fund
The path to ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church is an arduous journey. It is generally 7-8 years long, and begins in earnest after you have your undergraduate degree completed. It includes a required Seminary experience (3-4 years), and the expectations are that you will arrange the funding yourself, as there is no standard denominational support. As such, each candidate for ministry is reliant upon the support of local churches, family members, and members of the body of Christ for the financial resources necessary to complete this journey to ordained ministry in the UMC.

We have set up a fund to support ministerial candidates from our Huntersville United Methodist Church. As of right now, we have one candidate eligible to receive support for seminary expenses. That candidate is Latosha (Tosh) Jenkins. Today, we are announcing a “$100 for Tosh” campaign. Your gift to the HUMC Ministerial Education Fund will allow the Finance Committee to vote to support our candidate and make sure that funding goes directly to the Seminary. If you give “$100 for Tosh” it would be a great blessing to God’s work in this place and in the lives that candidate will bless in the future.

You may make your check out to HUMC Ministerial Education Fund or give HERE through our Planning Center App, designating your gift to this fund. Thank you for your support of those to whom God has called to faithfully lead God’s church!
Praises and Concerns
Two months before moving from Jacksonville, NC in 1968, our church membership was sent to this church. What a great decision that was because over the past 51 years, you have become our family. You were at our backs when our 16-year-old son was killed, when both sets of parents died, when our first great-grandson was stillborn, and when E.B. passed away. There have been great times, too and we are proud to belong to such caring people. Many thanks to all of you who sent cards, flowers, gifts and calls to help celebrate my 90th birthday. I hope all of you live to be 90!

Fay Lewis

P.S. Margaret Barnette will be 90 in May and then she will be as old as I am!

Upcoming HUMC Service and Events
Our next Church Work Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 20 from 8:00am - 12:00pm. Please bring your tools and help us spruce up the grounds of HUMC to get ready for Spring! This is also an opportunity for you to get rid of old files that you need to clean out of your house. Bring a file box or two. Carolina Shred will be on site that day from 9:00am - 11:00am to safely dispose of any sensitive files you may have.
