Our Sermon Series for the season of Lent is "Behold the Man." We will explore a God who: hungers; is beaten; is exposed; a God with a mother; a God who thirsts, loves, bleeds, dies, and rises.

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Our Not Here Ministry team will host a pancake supper beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Our Ash Wednesday service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the first sermon in the series, "A God Who Hungers."

Passionate, Thriving, Loving Community
Last week, two very special events took place at HUMC that show that we are indeed a Passionate, Thriving, Loving Community. We are answering that call to "open the door, make room at the table, and create spaces to foster lasting relationships with Jesus Christ."
Scouting for Food
Thank You! This year’s Scouting for Food drive was a huge success. The Scouts delivered over 38,000 lbs. of food! In addition to the Scouts, we had 98 volunteers (a total of 315 volunteer hours). We had a lot of volunteers from the community. Of the 98 volunteers, about 30 of them were from HUMC. We are very grateful to everyone who came out to help. We are still sorting food. If you would like to help, please email Wanda at
Mecklenburg County Special Olympics Basketball
Last Friday, we hosted the Elementary Basketball Special Olympics. We received this message from their coordinator, Jamey McIntyre:

"I wanted to thank you for allowing us to use the space at Huntersville United Methodist Church for the Elementary Basketball Special Olympics Event! You were very accommodating to us and to all our athletes! This event would not be the same without all of the support we receive from you and the members at HUMC. I hope to work with you again next year!!"

We would like to say a special thank you to all of you in our HUMC family who came to volunteer and be a part of this event. From Emily Bumann:

"I asked Cody what he was thinking and feeling when he saw all the kids during this event and he said, 'now I understand why our mission statement is what it is.'  I value this response from Cody's heart more than I can explain. Let us continue to glorify God with being his hands and feet and HEART in Huntersville!"
