We extend a warm welcome to Rev. Annalee Allen who will be preaching this Sunday. Rev. Allen is an ordained elder and the Associate Director of Ministerial Services for the Western North Carolina Conference. A native of Franklin, North Carolina, she has been a clergy member of the conference since 2005 and has served several appointments in local churches. She is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University where she earned a bachelor of business administration, and she earned a M.Div. at Hood Theological Seminary.
Annalee provides conference staff support and coordination to several programs of the Board of Ordained Ministry including a Vocational Discernment, Candidacy, and 
Residency in Ordained Ministry. She also serves as the conference staff liaison to the Council on Campus Ministry and coordinates the 10- week Explore Summer Internship for adults between the ages of 18 and 25 years old.
Annalee is married to Rev. Craig Allen. They have two daughters, Claire and Joy. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, watching movies, and all things gardening.
Children's Ministry Notes
Summer Schedule for Children's Programming
  • 9:30 Preschool (3's & 4's) Sunday School: Not in session. The Nursery will be available at this time for children up to age 4.
  • 9:30 Children's Sunday School: We will combine K- rising 5th grade and meet in the Youth Lounge.
  • Rising 6th graders will begin to transition to the Student Ministry, 9:30 Sunday School in the Simon Peter Room 141.
  • 10:30 Worship Warrior (3rd & 4th): Not in session, will resume Sunday, September 8.

Student Ministry (Youth) Notes
  • Rising 6th graders are invited to join the Youth Sunday School class at 9:30 on Sunday mornings in the Simon Peter Room 141. Rhonda Hawkins and Mona Kita are leading a study on the book of Genesis.
  • There is NO Youth Group meeting this Sunday night.
  • We are looking for volunteers to help prepare meals for our students on Sunday evenings. For more information, or to sign up, click HERE.
Passionate, Thriving, Loving Community
Welcome HUMC Quilters!
We have a new quilting and sewing group at HUMC led by Kathy Makin. They meet on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to make quilts and "cuddle bags." The quilts will benefit the Levine Children's Hospital Neonatal ICU. The cuddle bags will be distributed to our local police officers and firemen, to be handed out to children in traumatic situations.
