The Food Pantry continues to serve those in our community who are dealing with food insecurities. The mobile truck from the warehouse comes each Wednesday morning with non perishable and perishable food items for each family on our list. Our volunteers package "extras" to give to our families from the food we receive each Tuesday from the Second Harvest Food Bank truck that picks up produce, deli items, breads and desserts from our local grocery stores. Our clients also receive a bag with toiletry items, laundry detergent and extra non-perishable food items from our pantry. Continuing to serve without missing a week during this unprecedented time is due largely to a group of dedicated volunteers. I know there are some who were "regular volunteers" who have not been able to come during this time. The Pantry coordinators look forward to the time when we can invite everyone back to service and hopefully add some new volunteers to this amazing group.
December was a busy month for us. We fed 149 families (493 people). We always appreciate your donation of paper and plastic bags. Food items that we could presently use are: cereal, saltine crackers, and canned tuna or chicken. Non-food items we need are: toothpaste, toilet paper, dish and laundry detergent. We are grateful for your continued support.
