Dear St. Francis of Assisi School Parents and Guardians,

With only 7 days left of school, this is the perfect time to again thank all of the people who make a difference in the lives of our students here at St. Francis of Assisi School.  First, we are blessed to have three devoted pastors at San Antonio de Padua del Canon, St. Martin de Porres, and Santa Clara de Asis who partner with us in support of Catholic education. Join me in praying for them as they are on retreat all week renewing the passion for their vocation and the work they do. Our parishes are all beautiful homes for our SFA families to celebrate the Sacraments and spend time with God.

As our academic journey is coming to a close, our summer work now begins as educators.  While we close out this year, we are always lifelong learners. We spend time reading during the summer, attending professional development, and looking for new and creative ideas to bring back to our classrooms.  I am grateful to work with such amazing professionals who truly embody the heart of a servant.

Summertime brings families closer together as we spend day and night with one another for two and half months.  For our families, this reminds us of the gift of time. It goes so quickly from year to year, that these precious days of summer invite us to embrace our children and remember to see the gift that God has entrusted to us.  Whether your plans are in your backyard or traveling abroad, our prayer for you is one of profound gratitude for choosing St. Francis as your child's home for education. Thank you for all you have given this year in time, talent, and treasure.  May God reward you and your family for your generosity!

In gratitude,

Jeannette Lambert

Safety Concern
Whether you pick up at Santa Clara or in the school parking lot, there are students walking everywhere at pickup time.  Please drive slowly and cautiously through all parking lots.  Several students were almost hit by cars backing out yesterday in Santa Clara parking lot.  Thank you for driving carefully to keep our children safe!

COMMUNITY NEWS

Us in the Son was established in 1979 and is a Catholic based day camp that focuses on the qualities of the rainbow; love, courage, joy, growth, peace, faith, and hope. Throughout the summer we sing songs, do crafts, travel to the beach and the park, and praise the Lord. We are so excited to be kicking off the 41st summer of Us in the Son! We welcome all returners and newcomers!

Campers are placed into color groups based on their age -- purples are the youngest (Pre-K and K) and reds are the oldest (5th and 6th graders). Throughout your child's time at camp they will learn the importance of these qualities, engage in a variety of activities, make new friends, and understand the meaning of God's love. A week at camp includes plenty of crafts, singing, and games at the church campus, as well as a trip to the park on Tuesday! For more information and registration details, click the link.
