Dear St. Francis of Assisi School Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to all of our parents and students that drove out in the rain to Santa Margarita High School and supported our Academic Decathlon Team.  The St. Francis of Assisi School fans had pom poms and a very loud cheering section thanks to our large fan crowd. Super Quiz takes place in the gymnasium where spectators can hear the questions asked in each category.  Parents were moved to see our team, on their own, hold hands and pray together before the Super Quiz began. What a beautiful testament this is to their witness of faith. We watched as our St. Francis Team worked together very well to communicate answers and decide on the best response. The fans cheered louder as our decathletes continued to pull ahead in their score and by the end, they finished in 2nd place!

As the Principal, I was beaming with pride when the awards ceremony began.  In all of our years of competition, St. Francis has not won as many medals as they did on Saturday.  One after another of our individual competitors placed and received a medal in their individual subject area. Knowing how hard the team had worked with Mrs. Nguyen on Logic, it was exhilarating to see them place 2nd in this category.

This team worked so hard, collaborated so well, received support from some amazing coaches, and studied countless hours to achieve an overall award of 2nd place out of fifteen teams. I believe this is testimony to the great work of our teachers here at St. Francis, who spend countless hours instructing students on how to study, how to organize their time, and how to effectively prepare material to demonstrate mastery.  These skills, along with the intangible leadership skills, they learn daily here at St. Francis were so evident in the teamwork we saw in this competition. We will celebrate our decathletes this Friday at community prayer.

Blessings,

Jeannette Lambert
Principal

2019 - 2020 Intent to Return Kindergarten - 7th Grade
Believe it or not, it is time to start preparing for next year! We need  enrollment information from current families for the 2019 - 2020 school year!  We had a great response at Open House generating dozens of inquiries from  prospective families. We are very pleased with the strong interest from  families considering St. Francis School as their home away from home.

Forecasting enrollment numbers is critical to both developing an effective  budget as well as ensuring we do not overpopulate our classrooms for next  year. To be as accurate as possible we need your input. Of course our goal  is to retain all current students, but we understand that life circumstances
may necessitate change. All we ask is that you let us know if you will not be  returning next year. On Thursday, March 7th, the Intent to Return form  will be sent via email to each family. Please submit your family's  response by Thursday, March 14th.

2019 - 2020 Tuition and Fees will be announced on April 16th at the General  Parent Meeting. Registration information will be emailed to all families  following the General Parent Meeting. Online registration will be available  from April 17th until May 5th . Registration and class fees will be due either
May 5th if paid by cash or check or May 17th if paid through FACTS.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tammy Clarida, Admissions Director at tclarida@sfayl.org or 714-695-3700 ext. 102.
