Welcome to a new year at St. Francis of Assisi School!  May God's blessings be upon us as we journey together building disciples for Christ.  The first days of school have been filled with true joy and excitement from our students and staff alike.  Our first liturgy was very well attended by our families and Fr. Fred opened the year with an inspiring message, calling us all to be holy.  Fr. Michael Nguyen, our newly ordained priest at Santa Clara de Asis Church, beautifully shared his testimony about the importance of Catholic Education and how this strong foundation builds excellent academic skills and supports children in following God's plan for their future.

I shared a quote by Pope Benedict at Mass which echoes the same sentiment - "A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person.  And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students become Saints."  We look forward to sharing with our families many ways that St. Francis of Assisi School will partner with parents to shape and mold the lives of our children. Raising children with strong values, morals, and faith, can be a daunting task in our world today.  But together, as a faith community, we do not journey alone.

Our faculty are very much looking forward to sharing their plans for the year with you at our Back to School nights.  We are changing the format this year to bring us together as a community to begin each evening in the hall. I have invited Pam Hurwitz and Jyllian Rhodes to join me in welcoming parents in the Fr. Seamus Glynn Center with a fantastic surprise for all of our families.  Please refer to the Back To School section in the newsletter for details.

United in Christ,
