Dear Parents and Guardians of St. Francis of Assisi School,

"As long as there is communication, everything can be solved." - Robert Trujillo

As a school counselor for many years, I spent all my time working with students, parents, and teachers on communication.  Communication is truly an art form and takes a lifetime to perfect.   When you think about a simple conversation between two people, each brings a history and life experience to the topic being discussed.  We bring our perceptions and personal interpretations into the dialogue. This is a recipe for disaster. I truly believe that good communication takes a lot of work, a large portion of patience, and a willingness to truly listen to another person's perspective with an openness to empathy.  We are called to walk in each other's footsteps to appreciate the journey and perspective of the other. Thank God for grace!

As a school, our main forms of communication are through our weekly newsletter, our school website, our school app, Thursday folders, and phone/text blasts.  Over the past several months, we have worked on revisioning our website and school app. Through the partnership of our parent-led Marketing Committee, our staff have been guided and inspired to streamline parent access to relevant and necessary information.  Our hope is to build bridges of communication between home and school so parents can partner with teachers for the success of their children.

We are within days of the launch of our new website and school app.  Our website will host the video I showed at our Back to School nights, which features our students and alumnus, who both dared to dream and are now living their dream.  We will send out information on the app update once the app stores give us the final approval. I want to personally thank Mrs. Gutierrez for her tireless efforts and hours of work behind the scenes on bringing the vision of the Marketing Committee to life.  We are blessed with staff and parents who dedicate much time and talent to support the vision of our school.

Caring and communicating,

Jeannette Lambert
