Dear Parents and Guardians of St. Francis of Assisi School,

I would like to thank our entire community for the positive responses I received on our recent efforts to increase the effectiveness of our security measures here at school.  Many parents have shared observations on ways that we can continue to improve and tighten our practices here on campus. Your feedback is very much appreciated. I am confident that together, we will refine and improve our procedures here at St. Francis of Assisi School.

Recently, Bishop Kevin Vann commissioned all schools and parishes to dedicate this year to the theme of "Prayer."  His Excellency authored and requested that at all of our gatherings this year, we begin with his devotional prayer.  Tomorrow night at our General Parent Meeting, every family will receive a prayer card to add to their family prayer table.  This year, we are only having two (2) General Parent Meetings to be respectful of everyone's time. I am asking for your support through the attendance of at least one parent at this meeting.  I am keeping it to one hour, so please arrive on time.

This weekend, I look forward to seeing our St. Francis of Assisi Families at the San Antonio de Padua Fiesta.  The theme this year is "Rise Up." Please stop by our game booth this weekend! The Fiesta has been a long standing tradition even before the Church itself was built. As a tri-parish school, this is a great opportunity to not only support one of our parishes, but also spread the word about the great work happening here at our school.

Hasta luego,

Jeannette Lambert

Afterschool Pick Up - Important Safety Note
For families who have signed walking pass permission, you may notice that we have an administrative staff member assigned to the parking lot daily.  We became aware that students were left unattended last year beyond our school pickup times.  The same timelines that occur on campus apply to the Santa Clara de Asis parking lot.  Any student not picked up by 3:05 pm or 12:10 pm on half days, will be walked up to daycare by the staff member in the parking lot.  We cannot guarantee the safety of our students in an unsupervised parking lot, thus we have improved our procedure for this year.

Additionally, please remind students to be very careful as they walk through the parking lot, especially when walking with younger siblings.  We had several students weaving in and out of cars as they were backing up!  Please choose a designated area to pick up your student so they know right where to meet you. Otherwise, they should go directly to the sidewalk on the exterior of Santa Clara de Asis Church to wait for pickup.

Thank you in advance for your partnership in working on the safety of our students!
Scooter's Italian Ice

We're still in need of 1-2 parents to help us with the Scooter's Italian Ice fundraiser this Thursday, September 19 from 11:30am - 1:00pm.

All proceeds will fund our mass accompanist. Your primary duty will be to help with the lines so that we can get the students moving as efficiently as possible. If you're able to donate all or part of the time, please email Mrs. Laura K. Lodin immediately at , and sign up to get your volunteer hours logged and credited. Thank you for your consideration and support!
