Summer Reading has come to an end, and what summer it was! This year 657 of you signed up and completed 134 bingos, 75 blackouts, and thousands of hours read!

All prize winners have been notified, and you are all winners in our book (pun intended!)! Prizes can be picked up at the Reference Desk.

Fundraising News and Events

Join us at 6pm on Friday, September 18 for a fun, fast-paced competitive Spelling Bee for teens and adults. This event is full of friendly competition, prizes, light nibbles, a cash bar, and a silent auction. Early bird tickets are $35 online and $40 at the door.

Want a special VIP experience? We have a limited number of VIP tickets for $70, which includes one drink ticket, reserved seating, a Bee themed gift, and an extra raffle ticket for the Bee Gift Basket.

Dogs are nonjudgmental listeners and help foster confidence in readers who may need a little extra encouragement. Four fifteen minute slots are available each month for signup. Reluctant readers of all ages are welcome!

On behalf of the 1000 Books Foundation, PFL invites you to participate in this program which encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before they start kindergarten. Register online or at the children’s desk and receive your packet with all the necessary information for this program!

Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books!) before your child starts kindergarten. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think!
