On Sunday, January 21, ISNA Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances Director Colin Christopher joined dozens of Muslim community members at the Good Tree Farm of New Egypt's inaugural prayer for their new Noah's Arc Mosque and Interfaith Peace and Justice Center. Dr Hisham Moharram, founder and lead agricultural specialist of the farm, led Dhohr prayer at the spot of the forthcoming Center on the farm premises. Sheikh Muhammad Adeyinke Mendes, Imam of the Muslim Center of Greater Princeton, spoke of the spiritual benefits of interfaith community farming and the parallels it has with the traditional farming practices of Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be Upon Him) first Muslim community in Medina. ISNA is working with Good Tree Farm of New Egypt and other faith-based organizations in the region to work towards hosting an interfaith youth camp for teens during the summer of 2018, incorporating agricultural education, spiritual reflection, climate justice advocacy, and peace building. Please stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
