Рођење Пресвете Богородице - Мала Госпојина |
|
1. Рождество Пресвете Богородице. Света Дева Марија роди се од старих родитеља својих, Јоакима и Ане. Отац јој беше из племена Давидова, а матер од рода Аронова. И тако она беше по оцу од рода царска, а по мајци од рода архијерејска, и тиме већ предображаваше Онога, који ће се из ње родити, као Цара и Првосвештеника. Њени родитељи беху већ остарели, а немаху деце. И зато беху постидни пред људима и скрушени пред Богом. И у скрушености својој мољаху се Богу с плачем, да обрадује старост њихову даровањем једнога чеда, као што је некад обрадовао старца Аврама и старицу Сару даровавши им сина Исака. И Бог свемогући и свевидећи обрадова их радошћу, која је превазилазила далеко сва њихова очекивања и све најлепше снове. Јер им дарова не само ћерку но и Богомајку; озари их не само радошћу временом него и вечном. Даде им Бог само једну ћерку, која им доцније роди само једног унука, – али какву ћерку и каквог унука! Благодатна Марија, благословена међу женама, храм Духа Светога, олтар Бога Живога, трапеза хлеба небеснога, кивот светиње Божје, дрво најслађега плода, слава рода људског, похвала рода женског, источник девства и чистоте – то беше Богом дарована ћерка Јоакима и Ане. Рођена у Назарету, а после 3 године одведена у храм Јерусалимски, одакле се вратила опет у Назарет, да ускоро чује благовест св. архангела Гаврила о рођењу Сина Божјег, Спаситеља света, из њенога пречистога и девичанскога тела.
2. Празник св. Богородице Калишке. У манастиру св. Богородице близу села Калишта, западно од Струге, св. Богоматер показивала је своју силу и милост кроз многобројна чудеса. Многи болесници били су исцељивани чудотворно, а разбојници који су умишљали пљачкати или скрнавити манастир били су љуто кажњавани невидљивом силом. У храму се налази и чудотворна икона св. Богородице, а у близини две целебне воде: св. Петра и св. Ананије. Недалеко од главног храма налази се параклис св. Атанасија у пештери.
3. Празник иконе св. Богородице Почајевске. У Волинској губернији налази се знаменити манастир св. Богородице у Почајеву, где се св. Богоматер јавила прво около 1340. год. једноме од двојице инока, који су се ту у једној пештери подвизавали. Од тада то место постаде непресушним извором многобројних чудеса.
О многожељена и дугочекана,
Плачем од Господа Дево исплакана!
Телесни храм бићеш Духа Пресветога.
Мајком ћеш се звати Слова Превечнога.
Пламеном купином назвали су тебе,
Јер божански огањ примићеш у себе,
Горећеш од огња, но сагорет нећеш,
Носићеш плод златни, и свету донећеш.
Носилица Оног, који небо носи,
Коме цело небо похвалу узноси, –
С тобом ће се збити чудо од чудеса,
Јер ћеш носит небо, шира од небеса!
Скупља си нам, Дево, од драгог камења,
Јер си људском роду источник спасења;
За то нек те слави васиона цела,
О пресвета Дево, о грлице бела!
Цар небесни жели у свет овај доћи,
О капијо красна, кроз тебе ће проћи,
Кад порастеш, Дево, родићеш нам Христа
Из твога ће тела Сунце да заблиста.
Расуђивање
Свети Дионисије Ареопагит описује безмерну радост, и блистање споља и изнутра, и неописано неко благоухање, које он осети у присуству св. Богородице, када ју посети у Јерусалиму. У своме одушевљењу он каже, да кад не би познавао јединога истинога Бога, он би Њу, Свету Деву Марију, признао за Бога. Такав силан и необичан утисак чинила је на људе света Дева још за време свога телесног живота на земљи. Несравњиво већу силу и славу пак задобила је она после своје телесне смрти, када је вољом Божјом узвишена над ангелским силама. Њена сила долази од њене непрестане молитве Богу за верне, за све оне, који се њој за помоћ обраћају. Св. Јован Новгородски, кад се с народом молио њој за помоћ против непријатељске војске, познао је, да се и она у том часу са сузама молила Господу за њих. И Новгород је био чудесно спасен. Како је била болећива према распетоме Сину своме, тако је света Пречиста болећива и према свима невољницима, који се њој за помоћ обраћају. Може се рећи, да је сва земља покривена чудесима њене милости. У Београду и данас живи један кафеџија Ц. Ј, родом из села Лабуништа, иза Струге, кога је мајка као слепа довела у манастир Калишки, где је после молитве свештеникове над њим пред иконом св. Богородице, поново прогледао. Први инок у Почајеву видео је пламени стуб од земље до неба, и у том пламеном стубу видео је св. Богородицу. Она је стајала на једном камену, и на том месту, где је она онда стајала, отворила се целебна вода, која и дан данас помаже многим болесницима.
Созерцање
Да созерцавам чудесни дар Божји Соломону (I Цар. 3), и то:
1. како се јави Господ Соломону у Гаваону и упита га шта хоће да му да;
2. како Соломон поиска срце разумно, да може судити народу и распознавати добро и зло;
3. како му Бог дарова и што је искао и што није искао.
Беседа
о једнодушности Сина и Оца
Син не може ништа чинити сам од себе него што види да Отац чини. (Јов. 5, 19)
Како треба разумети речи ове, браћо? Да ли онако како су неки јеретици разумевали, на име, да је Син мањи од Оца и немоћнији од Оца? Не, никако. Уста која тако тумачише речи Господње, бешчешће говорише. Него ове речи треба разумети, како су их разумели и Оци наши свети, на име: да је Син раван Оцу у свему, и да због њихова равенства хотења и љубави и мудрости Син не може ништа чинити на супрот вољи Очевој, ни љубави Очевој, ни мудрости Очевој. Тако ни Отац не може чинити ништа на супрот Сина, нити Дух Свети на супрот Оца и Сина. Све што Отац хоће и воли и мисли, то и Син и Дух Свети хоће и воли и мисли. Хармонија несравњива, јединство неразделно, биће неисказано! Јасно је, дакле, да Син и не може и не хоће чинити ништа сам од себе, на Своју руку, без хармоније и јединства са силом Очевом и вољом Очевом. Да је ово тумачење тачно, сведочи сам Господ даљим Својим речима: као што отац васкрсава мртве и оживљује, тако и син које хоће оживљује. Видите ли равенство воље и силе? Оно што хоће Отац, хоће и Син; оно што може Отац, може и Син. Да нико, дакле, не дели божанство, и не навлачи проклетство на себе. Бог се не може разделити, и онај, ко покуша делити Божанство, и једно лице умањавати а друго узвишавати, не може се спасти.
Пресвета Тројице, Боже наш, три по ипостаси а један по суштини, животе, светлости и љубави, призри на нас и помилуј нас. Теби слава и хвала вавек. Амин.

Birth of the Most Holy Theotokos |
|
1. The Nativity of the Most-holy Theotokos. The Holy Virgin Mary was born of aged parents, Joachim and Anna. Her father was of the lineage of David, and her mother of the lineage of Aaron. Thus, she was of royal birth by her father, and of priestly birth by her mother. In this, she foreshadowed Him Who would be born of her as King and High Priest. Her parents were quite old and had no children. Because of this they were ashamed before men and humble before God. In their humility they prayed to God with tears, to bring them joy in their old age by giving them a child, as He had once given joy to the aged Abraham and his wife Sarah by giving them Isaac. The Almighty and All-seeing God rewarded them with a joy that surpassed all their expectations and all their most beautiful dreams. For He gave them not just a daughter, but the Mother of God. He illumined them not only with temporal joy, but with eternal joy as well. God gave them just one daughter, and she would later give them just one grandson-but what a daughter and what a Grandson! Mary, Full of grace, Blessed among women, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, the Altar of the Living God, the Table of the Heavenly Bread, the Ark of God's Holiness, the Tree of the Sweetest Fruit, the Glory of the race of man, the Praise of womanhood, the Fount of virginity and purity-this was the daughter given by God to Joachim and Anna. She was born in Nazareth, and at the age of three, was taken to the Temple in Jerusalem. In her young womanhood she returned again to Nazareth, and shortly thereafter heard the Annunciation of the Holy Archangel Gabriel concerning the birth of the Son of God, the Savior of the world, from her most-pure virgin body.
2. The Feast of the Holy Theotokos of Kali to
In the Monastery of the Holy Theotokos near the village of Kali to, west of Struga in Macedonia, the Holy Mother of God manifested her power and mercy through numerous miracles. Many of the sick were miraculously healed, and thieves who thought to plunder or desecrate the monastery were severely punished by an invisible power. There is a miracle-working icon of the Holy Theotokos in the church there; nearby, there are two springs of healing water: that of St. Peter and that of St. Ananias. The Chapel of St. Athanasius is located in a cave not far from the main church.
3. The Feast of the Icon of the Holy Theotokos of Pochaev
In the province of Volhynia there is a famous Monastery of the Holy Theotokos, in Pochaev. The Holy Mother of God first appeared in about 1340 to one of two monks who were laboring in asceticism in a cave there. From that time on, the place has been an inexhaustible font of numerous miracles.

The Nativity of the Most-holy Mother of God
O greatly desired and long awaited one,
O Virgin, thou hast been obtained from the Lord with tears!
A bodily temple of the Most-holy Spirit shalt thou become,
And shalt be called Mother of the Eternal Word.
The Burning Bush they called thee,
For thou wilt receive within thyself the divine fire:
Ablaze with fire but not consumed,
Thou shalt bear the Golden Fruit and offer it to the world.
Thou shalt be the Bearer of Him Who bears the heavens,
To Whom all of heaven offers up praise!
The Miracle of miracles shall come to pass within thee,
For thou shalt bear heaven, thou who art ``more spacious than the heavens!''
Thou art more precious to us, O Virgin, than precious stones,
For thou art the source of salvation for mankind.
For this, may the entire universe glorify thee,
O Most-holy Virgin, O white Turtledove!
The King of Heaven shall desire to enter the world,
And shall pass through thee, O Beautiful Gate!
O Virgin, when thou dost become woman thou shalt bear Christ for us;
From thy body, the Sun shall blaze forth.
Reflection
St. Dionysius the Areopagite writes of the immeasurable joy, the outer and inner radiance, and the indescribable fragrance that he sensed in the presence of the Holy Theotokos when he visited her in Jerusalem. In his zeal, he says that if he had not known the One True God, he would have recognized her, the Holy Virgin Mary, as God. The Holy Virgin made such a powerful and unique impression on men during her earthly life-and she received an incomparably greater power and glory after her physical death when, by the will of God, she was exalted above the heavenly hosts. Her power comes from her ceaseless prayer for the faithful, for all those who turn to her for help. When St. John of Novgorod and his people prayed to her for help against a hostile army, he understood that she was simultaneously praying to the Lord with tears in their behalf, and Novgorod was miraculously saved. As she was compassionate toward her crucified Son, so the Holy Most-pure One is also compassionate toward all those in need, and who turn to her for help. It could be said that the entire earth is covered by the miracles of her mercy. Even today, there lives in Belgrade a café owner (C. J.), who was born in the village of Labuni te (Macedonia) outside Struga. His mother brought him blind to the Monastery of Kali to, where, after the priest prayed over him before the icon of the Holy Theotokos, he received his sight. The first monk at Pochaev saw a fiery pillar extending from earth to heaven, and in that flaming pillar he saw the Holy Theotokos. She was standing on a rock. On the spot where she stood, a spring of healing water sprang forth: even today, it heals many of the sick.
Contemplation
Contemplate God's wonderful gift to Solomon (I Kings 3):
1. How the Lord appeared to Solomon in Gibeon, and asked him his desire;
2. How Solomon asked for an understanding heart, in order to judge the people and recognize good and evil;
3. How God gave him that which he sought, as well as that which he did not seek.
Homily
on the equality of the Son and the Father
The Son can do nothing of Himself but what He seeth the Father do (John 5:19).
Brethren, how are we to understand these words? In the same way as some heretics understood them-that is, that the Son is lesser and weaker than the Father? In no way. The mouths that interpreted these words of the Lord this way spoke blasphemy. We must understand these words as our Holy Fathers understood them-that the Son is equal to the Father in all things; and that, because of their equality of will, love, and wisdom, the Son can do nothing contrary to the Father's will, or contrary to the love of the Father, or contrary to the wisdom of the Father. Thus, the Father cannot do anything contrary to the Son, and the Holy Spirit cannot do anything contrary to the Father or the Son. Everything that the Father wills and loves and thinks, is also willed, loved and thought by the Son and the Holy Spirit. Harmony unequaled; unity undivided; being inexpressible! Therefore, it is obvious that the Son can and will do nothing of Himself-nothing of His own accord, nothing without harmony and unity with the power of the Father and the will of the Father. The Lord Himself further witnesses that this interpretation is true by His words: For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will (John 5:21). Do you see the equality of will and power? That which the Father wills, the Son wills also; that which the Father can do, the Son can also do. Therefore, let no one separate Their Divinity, and thus bring down a curse upon himself. God cannot be divided, and one who tries to divide Divinity-and to lessen one Person and to exalt the other Person-cannot be saved.
O Most-holy Trinity our God, Three in Persons, and One in Essence- Life, Light and Love-look down upon us, and have mercy on us.

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “’You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of David.” He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying: ‘The LORD said to my Lord, sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool’? If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.
