Dear parishioners,
Christ is risen!
As you have already heard, Governor Baker gave the green light for the first phase of the opening in Massachusetts on Monday, May 18, where churches are also included. I was happy to receive the good news, and I believe that many of you can hardly wait to meet again in our holy church to pray. This does not mean that the danger of the pandemic has passed and that we can relax. On the contrary, the danger still exists, and we must take all necessary measures to ensure that our prayer gatherings are safe and in accordance with the recommended protection measures.
Services will continue to be broadcast live on Sundays. If you decide to come to church, masks are mandatory on the entire cathedral property including the yard, parking lot, hall, and church, except for children under the age of five.
DISTANCE
We hear every day how important it is to keep a distance during the pandemic. In the church, we will also strictly adhere to these rules, and I ask you to respect both the marked instructions regarding the distance and the ushers who will help in the implementation of these rules.
ENTRY INTO THE CHURCH
Upon arrival, you will be able to enter the church through one of two doors. If you want to enter without lighting a candle, you can come in the entrance from the parking lot under the bell tower. If you are a family, you will be escorted to an open pew and be seated. One pew per family. Every third pew will be open which is about 10 feet apart. No liturgical books will be available in the pews. You are encouraged to bring your own.
If you want to light candles, please enter the west entrance (towards Alewife Brook Parkway). At the entry way, there will be bundles of 5 or 10 candles on the table for self-service. There will be no person to give change. We suggest that you come with exact change or donate online later at

Use the hand sanitizer before taking candles. Please wait until the person or family in front of you has finished lighting the candles, and only then, approach. After lighting the candles, please take your place in the church with the help of an usher. On Saturdays, only the entrance from the parking lot will be open.
EXIT
When the Liturgy is over, please leave the church through the doors to the right of the Altar. Follow the usher's instructions. The people who are in the space around Christ's tomb will exit first, followed by those in the first pew, etc. Please do not get up and stand in the middle aisle before receiving a signal from the usher. As you approach the icon, please show respect by crossing yourself and bowing without kissing, and then receiving the blessed bread. During the service, we will not collect donations, but you can leave your contribution next to the icon in the basket when you leave. Please keep your distance when leaving the church.
GATHERING AFTER THE LITURGY
For now, it is not allowed to gather in the hall after the Liturgy. The hall will be open for toilet use only and for possible extra space during Liturgy. We know that after such a long time, we want to see friends and talk. Since warm days are coming, we can do it outside while keeping 6 feet apart.
CHOIR
As for singing, it was recommended by both the medical profession and the church authorities that the choirs do not sing, except for individual singers or more of them from the same family. Accordingly, we will continue with the singers from the priest's family. Also, only one reader will continue to serve in the altar.
DRINKING WATER
Water fountain will be closed. Bring a water bottle if you think you may need it as there will be no access to drinking water downstairs and the kitchen will be locked. But please no drinking in the church.
I would like to thank you all for the understanding and patience you have shown to date. I invite you to continue to show a high degree of discipline when we come to our cathedral to pray. Let us thank God, who is protecting us from this disease, and who is finally bringing us together to pray in our magnificent cathedral.

WE ENCOURAGE AT-RISK INDIVIDUALS AND THOSE WITH SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS
TO STAY AT HOME
As we slowly come back to church for regular in-person services, we recommend that people in high-risk demographics not physically attend regular worship services. According to the White House plan, vulnerable individuals (the elderly and people with certain underlying medical conditions) should remain sheltered in place until Phase Three. We plan to continue live-stream worship services.
SOME OF THE STATE REGULATIONS FOR CHURCH REOPENING
- All places of worship shall limit occupancy to 40 percent of the building's maximum permitted occupancy level as documented in its occupancy permit on record with the municipal building department or other municipal record holder. The occupant count shall include all persons inside the place of worship, including attendees and staff
- Staff or attendants shall monitor the number of attendees entering the place of worship to ensure compliance with the maximum occupancy level
- Attendees who are not part of the same immediate household must be seated at least 6 feet apart. Members of the same immediate household are permitted to sit together and less than 6 feet apart
- If there is fixed seating, rows should be blocked off and kept empty to allow for sufficient distancing between rows
- All attendees and staff must wear face coverings or masks in accordance with COVID-19 Order No. 31 and the Department of Public Health's Guidance while inside and while entering and exiting places of worship or otherwise participating in in-person services, except where a person is unable to wear a face covering or mask because of a medical or disabling condition
- For children between age 2 and 5, the wearing of a face covering or mask is at the discretion of the child's parent or guardian. Children under the age of 2 should not wear a face covering or mask
- A person who declines to wear a face covering or mask because of a medical or disabling condition shall not be required to produce documentation verifying the condition
- If a place of worship learns that an attendee or workers or other worker has tested positive for COVID-19, it shall notify the local Board of Health (LBOH) in the city or town where the place of worship is located and assist the LBOH as reasonably requested to trace likely contacts and advise contacts to isolate and self-quarantine

Као што сте већ чули Гувернер Бејкер је у понедељак, 18. маја, дао зелено светло за прву фазу отварања у Масачусетсу, где су укључене и цркве. Лично сам се обрадовао, а верујем и многи од вас једва чекате да се поново нађемо заједно у нашем светом храму на молитви. Ово не значи да је опасност од пандемије прошла и да можемо да се начисто опустимо. Напротив, опасност још увек постоји и ми ћемо предузети све потребне мере да наша окупљања на молитву буду безбедна и у складу са препорученим мерама заштите.
Службе недељом ће и даље бити емитоване уживо. Уколико решите да дођете у цркву, маске ће бити обавезне на целом црквеном имању укључујући цркву, салу, паркинг и двориште, осим за особе које имају здравствене проблеме и за децу испод 5 година старости.
ОДСТОЈАЊЕ
Свакодневно слушамо колико је важно држати одстојање у време пандемије. И ми у цркви ћемо се строго придржавати ових правила и молим вас да поштујете како постављене инструкције о размаку тако и редаре који ће помагати у спровођењу ових правила.
УЛАЗАК У ЦРКВУ
Приликом доласка моћи ћете да уђете на двоја врата у цркву. Уколико желите да уђете без да палите свећу, можете ући уобичајено на улаз са паркинга испод звоника. Ако сте породично, отићи ћете до слободне клупе и заузети своје место. Једна клупа ће бити за једну фамилију. Свака трећа клупа ће бити отворена што је око 10 стопа размака. Уколико желите да палите свеће, уђите на западни улаз (према Alewife Brook Parkway). На улазу ће бити на столу припремљене свеће у вези од 5 и 10 свећа по принципу самоуслуге. ИЗЛАЗ
Када је Литургија завршена излазите на врата која су десно од Олтара. Пратите инструкције редара. Излазиће прво особе које су у простору око Христовог гроба, па затим они из прве клупе, итд. Молимо вас да не устајете и стојите у средњем пролазу пре него што добијете сигнал од редара. Према икони можете показати поштовање тако што ћете се прекрстити и поклонити без целивања, а затим примити нафору. За време службе нећемо носити тас већ свој прилог можете оставити поред иконе на назначено место у корпу приликом изласка. Одржавајте растојање и приликом изласка из цркве.
ОКУПЉАЊЕ ПОСЛЕ ЛИТУРГИЈЕ
За сада није дозвољено окупљање у сали после Литургије. Сала ће бити отворена за употребу тоалета и могући вишак верника за време службе који не могу стати у цркви. Знамо да после толико дуго времена желимо да се видимо са пријатељима и поразговарамо. С обзиром да лепи дани долазе, можемо то урадити напољу уз поштовање прописаног одстојања.
ХОР
Што се тиче певања у хору препоручено је, како од медицинске струке, тако и од црквених власти да хорови још не певају осим појединачни појци или више њих из исте фамилије. Сходно томе, наставићемо са појцима из свештеникове породице без мешања са другима. Такође, у олтару ће наставити да служи само један чтец.
ВОДА ЗА ПИЋЕ
Водена фонтана ће бити затворена. Донесите боцу воде ако мислите да вам је потребна, јер доле неће бити приступа питкој води, а кухиња ће бити закључана. Mолим вас да не пијете у цркви.
Овом приликом желим да захвалим свима вама на разумевању и стрпљењу које сте показали до сада. Позивам вас да покажемо висок степен дисциплине када дођемо у храм на молитву. Захвалимо Богу што нас је сачувао до сада од ове опаке болести и што ћемо коначно моћи да се Богу молимо заједно у нашем велелепном храму.
