"Испричавши о богаташу који је намеравао само да једе, пије и весели се, а затим био поражен смрћу, не доживевши насладе које је очекивао, Господ је закључио: Тако бива ономе који себи тече благо а не богати се Богом (Лк.12,21). Такав удео њих постиже. Они који се богате богозаборавом, мисле само у телесним утехама. Они, пак, који желе да избегну тај горки удео, нека се потруде да не стичу за себе, већ нека се богате само Богом. Сво богатство је од Бога. Уколико га стекнеш, посвети га Богу и проистећи ће свето богатство. Све вишкове дели са онима који имају потребу. Тако ћеш вратити Богу оно што ти је дао. Ко даје бедноме, Богу даје. Онај ко тако троши богатство, истински се богати. Богатећи се добрим делима, он се богати ради Бога, са намером да му угоди; он се богати Богом, привлачећи Његов благослов; он се богати од Бога, који вернога у маломе поставља над многим; он се богати код Бога, а не сам за себе, будући да себе не сматра господарем, него само приставом и рачуновођом, чија се сва брига састоји у томе да намири све који му долазе са потребама. Он се боји да било шта утроши на себе самог, јер сматра да би неисправно употребио имање које му је поверено."

Dear Parishioners,
Hoping this note finds you and your family healthy and safe during these challenging times.
Today, we find ourselves in the midst of a pandemic with no clear end in sight. Our cathedral was forced to close its doors for regular worship for two months during our highest holy days of the year. This note is not meant to reflect on the negative, rather to consider the many great outcomes that have evolved from these challenges. And to ask for your support during these continued challenges.
Our goal for this year is to raise $100,000. Now, more than ever, we are relying on your generosity and support. Together we will overcome these ongoing challenges and become stronger and more united than ever. The raising of these funds is extremely important to the daily functioning and upkeep of our Parish and Cathedral.
In order to continue our work as a Parish and as a beacon for this community, we again must ask for your help. Due to COVID-19 we are unable to hold an in person fundraiser. We humbly ask that you’ll consider making a donation at https://www.stsavaboston.org/donate.
Years ago, we overcame the “Great Flood” together. And now, together, and united, we’ll withstand the challenges of this Pandemic.
Reflecting on the words of Christ, “All things are possible to him who believes!” Mark 9:23.

И рече: Ево ово ћу чинити: покварићу житнице своје и начинићу веће; и онде ћу сабрати сва своја жита и добро своје; И казаћу души својој: Душо! Имаш много имање на много година; почивај, једи, пиј, весели се. А Бог њему рече: Безумниче! Ову ноћ узеће душу твоју од тебе; а шта си приправио чије ће бити? Тако бива ономе који себи тече благо, а не богати се у Бога.

Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. ‘And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
