St. Patrick's Day Shake

INGREDIENTS:

• 3 oz Baileys

• 1 oz Creme de Menthe

• 2 oz Milk

• 4 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream

• Chocolate Syrup

• Whipped Cream

• Lucky Charms Marshmallows 

DIRECTIONS:

Add Baileys, Creme de Menthe, milk and ice cream to a blender. Blend and pour into chocolate drizzled glass. Top with whipped cream and marshmallows.

The story behind the bottle, as they learned, is a remarkable one and perhaps the greatest whiskey story never told about the Mother of Bourbon - Mary Dowling. Mary Dowling, a trailblazing woman distiller in the male-dominated world of pre-Prohibition bourbon, with a name that remained largely unknown. During Prohibition, she was the sole distillery owner to move production to Mexico, evading the constraints of the Dry Laws. Long hidden in the shadows of history, Rabbit Hole Distillery and Castle Brands have brought this woman’s incredible journey and legacy back to life through Mary Dowling Winter Wheated Bourbon, Mary Dowling Tequila Cask Finished Bourbon, and Mary Dowling Double Oak Barrel Bourbon.

Two Chicks Cocktails was launched in 2019 by Linda Cash and Meghan Hanna by connecting with the right people and creating a team to enhance the brand’s mission. Amazing classic cocktails that have a feminine twist was born.

Linda Cash knows what it takes to build a brand. Her experience ranges from creating product and growth in crafts and activity kits, and her company won numerous awards for vendor of the year.

Meghan Hanna had the idea to start a cocktail company when she was sitting in her backyard with her girlfriend, enjoying a cocktail. Meghan was raised by two mothers, is one of two daughters, and has two daughters — 2’s resonated in her life. This inspired the name Two Chicks Cocktails.

Meghan was working as a school counselor and was new to the spirits industry. Through a mutual acquaintance, she met Linda Cash, CEO, and they decided to launch Two Chicks Cocktails. Meghan and Linda shared the same vision of creating a brand that was for everyone. As a women-founded, owned and run company, Two Chicks has a mission to create connection and inspire positivity.

A lack in the market led Kat Hantas to create 21 Seeds Tequila.

There were some flavored tequilas on the market, but they were more sugary and sweet. “They didn’t look like tequila anymore, and I said ‘Huh, really there isn’t anything like what I’m making in my kitchen,’” Hantas recalls.

Founded with her sister, Nicole Hantas-Emanuel, and her best friend Sarika Singh, 21 Seeds freshly infused tequila features three flavors –cucumber jalapeno, grapefruit-hibiscus and Valencia orange.

March is National Nutrition Month

Every March, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics creates campaigns for National Nutrition Month that are focused on making informed and healthy decisions when eating.

Focusing on healthful plates can have long-lasting health benefits and reduce your risk of stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. There are five primary food groups: vegetables, fruit, grains, protein, and dairy. Balancing your plate with these groups will help you eat healthy all day.

Physical activity is also crucial to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so, during National Nutrition Month, it’s important to focus on fueling the body to maintain activity.
