Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) celebrated today Thursday, June 19, marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed.
Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States.

The June solstice starts tomorrow, Friday, June 20, marking the astronomical first day of summer!
In the Northern Hemisphere, the June solstice (aka summer solstice) occurs when the Sun travels along its northernmost path in the sky. This marks the astronomical start of summer in the northern half of the globe. (In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the opposite: the June solstice marks the astronomical start of winter, when the Sun is at its lowest point in the sky.)
Cheers to Summer!

Cheers to New Beginnings: 2025 Mentor Program Kicks Off with a Mimosa Showdown
The 2025 Mentor Program got off to a sparkling start with a high-energy Mentee Breakfast Meet & Greet—complete with laughter, learning, and a splash of competition. Held at the Wine Education Center, the event welcomed this year’s mentees with a delicious breakfast, a warm introduction to the company, and the perfect icebreaker: a hands-on Mimosa Mix-Off.
After a welcome and brief overview of the program from Holly Mohre, AVP, Sales Development, Tyler Morgan, Portfolio Manager, United, and Faith Ames, Business Analyst, mentees were divided into teams and given a challenge—create a signature Mimosa using La Marca Prosecco, a variety of juices, and fresh fruit. What followed was equal parts creativity and chaos, as teams experimented with flavor combinations, garnishes, and presentation under the ticking clock. The competition culminated in presentations to a panel of judges: Mary Lou Segreve, Senior Vice President – Administrative Operations, Amy Deshaies, VP, Human Resources, Ed DeVito, Senior Vice President of Warehouse & Delivery Operations, and Steve Gack, Vice President, e-Commerce, who had the tough job of sipping their way to a decision.
And the winners were...
Master Mixer (Best Overall): Mint To Be Mentees
A crisp, refreshing blend of La Marca Prosecco, watermelon juice, muddled watermelon, fresh mint, and a squeeze of lime stole the show.
Team: TJ Boyd, Merchandising Manager, Century, Ellen Konigsberg, Pricing Specialist, Sean Costanzo, Sales Manager, Classic, Brett Jordan, Graphic Designer, Quality Beverage
Instagram Worthy (Best Presentation): Ooh La La
A vibrant mix of Prosecco, watermelon and pomegranate juice, with mint and lemon flair—served in style.
Team: Elli Langton, Sales Intern, Regan Brewster, Sales Intern, Ben Giangrande, Merchandiser, CT, Matt Freedman, Portfolio Manager, Classic
Next-Level Bubbles (Most Creative): Sunset Breeze
An explosion of color and flavor, featuring blueberry lemonade, watermelon juice, and a fruit salad of garnishes.
Team: Tom Lingle, Demand Planner, Michael Genatossio, Sales Manager, Commonwealth, Katie Sachs, Human Resources Manager, Matt Sampson, Portfolio Manager, Carolina
Honorable Mention: Summer Morning Rise
Peach and pineapple juices, mint, and a daring “stabbing of lemon” made this a sunny standout.
Team: Carla Rocha Gil, Sales Support, Nicole Alexopoulos, Business Analyst, Jessica Parillo, E Comm & Sales Intern, Kelly Enos, Pricing Analyst, Nate Curtin, Sales Intern
Blueberry Lane
A sophisticated blend of blueberry lemonade, lime juice, and muddled mint, garnished to perfection.
Team: Lea Dalton, Sales Intern, Melissa Fennell, Customer Service Manager, JP Ryan, Telemarketing Sales, Max Curto, Sales Representative, Quality Beverage
After the bubbly fun, Neal Fisher, SVP of Sales Operations & Marketing, Holly Mohre and Tyler Morgan wrapped things up with words of wisdom and career advice that left mentees inspired and energized. The event was not only a celebration of creativity and collaboration but a window into the dynamic, multifaceted nature of our company.
We’re already looking forward to the next event on the calendar—the Mentor Lunch. Until then, cheers to growth, guidance, and great company!

Flowers Chardonnay balances elegance and energy with a seamless through line from nose to finish. Notes of fresh-evergreen aromas open to mandarin orange edged with pithy lime and layers of subtle coastal brininess. On the palate, the citrus—expressed with hints of plushness—stands in dichotomy with a beautiful backbone of acidity, as a distinctive herbal character emerges at the core. Lovely layers of texture derived from flinty minerality expand into a pure and vibrant finish.

June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month. Headaches and migraines are among the most common disorders of the human nervous system. It has been estimated that more than half of the adult population has had at least one headache in the last year. Symptoms range from excruciating migraines, dull and throbbing head pain, piercing cluster pain, neck pain and tension, nausea, and hypersensitivity to light, sound and smells.
Occasional headaches are common, and usually require no medical attention. However, consult your doctor if:
- You usually have two or more headaches a week
- You take a pain reliever for your headaches most days
- Your headaches are disabling
- You need more than the recommended dose of over-the-counter pain remedies to relieve your headaches
- Your headache pattern changes or your headaches worsen
Seek prompt medical care if your headache:
- Is sudden and severe
- Gets worse despite rest and pain medication
- Follows a head injury
