March 30 is National Doctor's Day!
Everyone at the CMA would like to wish physicians everywhere a very happy National Doctor's Day!
Eudora Brown Almond, the wife of a Georgian doctor, first began this holiday in 1933 as a way to thank and honor physicians for all the hard work and devotion that keeps our communities healthy.
Eudora chose March 30 because that is the day ether anesthesia was used for the first time in surgery in 1842. Doctor's Day became an official National holiday in 1991.
So, a big thank you to all the physicians, past and present, who keep us and our loved ones happy and healthy.
