Please make Christ Church a part of your Thanksgiving tradition by joining us for worship tomorrow morning at 10:00AM. The turkey always tastes better after we give thanks to God together in church! The service will include many great traditional Thanksgiving hymns, led by our choir.

Feed My Starving Children - Dec. 9 - Sat. - 9:00-11:00AM

We still need 18 people!!!

Christ Church will travel to Libertyville, Illinois to help Feed My Starving Children. We have decided to carpool instead of spending the money on tour buses.  We will gather in the parking lot of Christ Church behind the 470 Maple Street address at 7:45AM. We will leave promptly at 8AM.  We will return at noon. We committed to bring 40 people.

Sign Up Today! Email Phil at pkrone@productivestrategies.com

More importantly for us, they accept volunteers as young as 5 when accompanied by an adult.  This means that for families with small children, this can be an event that everyone can participate in together.

Why We Sing What We Sing When We Sing
Richard will take us through the beginnings of liturgical music from before the time of Jesus through the modern day. Learn what we have adapted from the Temple in Jerusalem to the place of Gregorian Chant to ancient and modern Hymnody. It's no accident that we sing the hymns we do.

Vestry Nominating Committee Receiving Names-Deadline is Dec. 1
Our parish by-laws require the Rector to appoint a committee of four retiring Vestry members and at least five other parish members to the parish Nominating Committee. They are to nominate a slate of four people for an upcoming Vestry term of three years each. This year we have an additional nomination to fill a one year unexpired term.  In addition, we need to nominate a Junior Warden for a term of one year to be followed by a year as Senior Warden.  If you have a nomination to make, please send that parish member's name to Office Manager Charlotte McGee.  Nominees must be 16 or older. Parish nominations close   Friday, December 1. The committee meets on Sunday, December 3.
Bells
Lessons & Carols December 3, 9:30 Service
Music for this liturgy will include beautiful, traditional readings, hymns and anthems for  the season of Advent.  The opening procession will be a highlight of the service and will include the singing of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" accompanied by handbells and organ (a great reason to arrive for church on time that morning, if you possibly can!).

Update - The Power of Grace!  --  Grace House
A tremendous thank you to you, the parishioners of Christ Church who came out to welcome and support Michele, Zee, Nicole and Tina from Grace House for their "Power of Grace!" performance.  The success of that performance has landed them two additional upcoming gigs!

Ticket sales and donations totaling $2,100 will be turned over to Grace House as a result of your generous contributions.  That is truly the "Power of Grace!".

Wrap & Roll Caroling Party

December 10 - 4:00-7:30

It's (almost) that time of year! Mark your calendars and call your family and friends-the caroling party is around the corner. Thrown by the youth and parents of our congregation, we will wrap presents for the homeless, eat dinner (and Christmas cookies!) together, sing carols, and get a visit from St. Christopher-I mean St. Nicholas! It's a great time to celebrate with your church family and introduce your friends and relatives to our church community. There's a recommended donation of $15/person and $30 total per family, but no need to RSVP. The more the merrier, so save the date!
Christopher invites you to join him for some
early Christmas cheer.
