Faith & Practice
This Sunday, our preacher and Faith & Practice leader will be the Right Reverend David Hamid, Suffragan (or Assistant) Bishop from the Church of England in charge of parishes outside of England. He is in Chicago for the annual meeting of the Anglican Centre of Rome, the chief liaison between the Anglican Communion and the Vatican. Bishop Hamid has oversight of parishes in Gibraltar, Germany, Northern Europe, Italy & Malta. Consecrated in 2002, he speaks five languages, is married, and has two grown children. He has been involved in ecumenical work since the start of his ministry.

"Passed and Present: Keeping Memories of Loved Ones Alive"
Sunday, June 4, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Chicago Botanic Garden Ni chols Hall
On Sunday, June 4, author Allison Gilbert will speak at the Chicago Botanic Garden about creative ways to keep the  memory of loved ones alive after a death. Nadia will be attending, along with any interested Christ Church parishioners. Admission is free, but advance registration is required, so if you'd like to attend with folks from Christ Church, contact Nadia by Tuesday, May 9. Click here for more info. 

Calling All Children & Youth!
Sunday, May14 is our annual Children & Youth service. We need YOU t o lead all  aspects of the service, from leading prayers to ushering to helping celebrate communion. If you don't have a job, yet, and you would like one, please see Melissa Durbin or Leah Romanelli! We want everyone to be involved.

It's time to put together our graduate bulletin! If you or a loved one is graduating from high school, college, or graduate school, please send the following information to: by Sunday, May 7:
1. Name of school from which you're graduating
2. Any awards/scholarships
3. Future plans (college/gap year/employment)
High School Graduates should also include a recent photo and the activities in which they participated at Christ Church.

College and Graduate School Graduates should also include the names of their degrees.
Our Next Rummage Director Could be You!
We are beginning our search for a parishioner to become our new Christ Church Rummage Director. The Director job is a part-time church staff position which offers tremendous flexibility and the opportunity to be an integral part of our largest and longest running outreach ministry. The position is supported by the 10 member Rummage Steering Committee, an experienced group of volunteers who are involved in all major aspects of our two annual sales. Apply now! Interviewing on a rolling bases.

We need cooks (done in your home), servers (age 12+), and people to provide milk, fruit, and salad each time we are "on deck."    Click here to learn more. 
Art Supply Drive
On May 14, Christ Church member Morgan Fisher will be hosting an art supply drive to benefit Family Promise, an agency we work with twice a year that provides temporary housing to homeless families. There is also a center in Evanston where the families stay during the day. This center is in desperate need of art supplies to keep the kids occupied. Remember to have your child bring up your supplies during the offertory at the 9:30 service on May 14.

May 14 will be Acolyte Recognition during the 9:30 service. Please attend so that you can receive your "level up" on your acolyte cross and plan to stay for 20 minutes afterward so that we can take some team pictures!

Receiving Communion at Home
We have a group of trained lay chaplains within Christ Church who are happy to bring communion to you or someone you know at home, at rehab, or at any nursing facility. A friendly visit with a caring lay chaplain brings the warmth of Christ Church to you, when you need the extra care.
