Additional Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Events and Resources

On Jan. 7 the MS and HS students had a separate assembly from the NOPE Task Force (Narcotics, Overdose, Prevention, and Education). Their mission is to diminish the frequency and impact of drug overdoes death through community education, family support and purposeful advocacy. While the presentation is at times blunt and evokes powerful emotions, all students were told at the assembly that staff is around to help in any way. Your child should have left with a lot of information. The highlight points:
    * If your friend passes out or is acting weird - GET HELP - parents or 911.  They explained the Good Samaritan Law to the students.
   * Sharing prescription drugs is illegal.
*Carrying around prescription drugs in their bottle or loose in a pocket or purse is illegal.
   * If you or someone you know is using drugs -GET HELP - ASK!!

We hope you will attend the special parent presentation on January 23 (more info above).
