Bible in a Year Meeting

The Bible in a Year group will be meeting Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30p in the Gathering Place.

All are welcome to come join our discussion no matter where you are in your reading of the Bible.

Celebrating Jean Nelson 

Jean Nelson will be stepping down from her roles in our music ministry. Please join us in celebrating her at a reception with refreshments following 9a worship next Sunday, August 30. This will be a great time to thank her for her service and to wish her well.

Healing Prayer Update

This past weekend Galilee offered a Healing Service which included a time for prayer and anointing for physical, emotional and spiritual healing. At the end of the service the new Prayer Room which is located next to the Narthex was dedicated and blessed. Here all who are in need of healing can come and be comforted with God’s love.

We will resume Healing Prayer in the Prayer Room the first full weekend of September. With that being said, the Healing Prayer Team would like to present the opportunity for all to participate in saying prayers and the laying on of hands. On Sunday, August 30th after the 9am worship there will be an informational and educational meeting for all who might be interested in providing prayers and laying on of hands in our new Prayer Room.

On that same day a reception will be held in honor of Jean Nelson for her dedication and service to Galilee. Our meeting will take place in the Gathering Room after you had a chance to celebrate with Jean.

Sunday School Registration

Registration for our Sunday School program is open! Use the button to register your child/ren for the upcoming program year. Rally Day is Sunday, September 13 and includes a backpack blessing and the first day of Sunday School is September 20.

Pewaukee Farmers Market News

It was another great day on Wednesday at the Pewaukee Farmers Market! We had 382 visitors, exactly the same as last week, joined us for another beautiful and day!

• Fresh corn and produce continued to be a big draw, and we welcomed newcomers Soap Passion, Lake Country Acupuncture, and Hope for Children Ministries, along with the returning Lake Country Optimist Club.
• Thank you to Common Ground for their final musical performance of the season, and a special "thank you" to Galilee’s Scouting Troop 87 for eight market visits this summer serving brats, hot dogs and free water!
• Thank you to Beth Aldana for leading the kids' tent activity of painting with rocks. You rock!
• Coming August 26: Look for more fresh corn and produce, plus the market debut of Big Dawgs Hotdogs featuring Nathan’s hot dogs.
• Enjoy favorite market vendors including Fiddlesticks, Restore Coffee, Boba Blush, Wood’r Ice, Mama K’s Bakery, Norwex, and Urban Wood & Artisan Crafts.
• It will be Faithly’s final market of 2026—stop by and wish Sophia well as she heads off to college!
• Pastor Frank D. Janzow will provide live music featuring easy-listening favorites from the ’60s through the ’80s.

Envelopes Last Chance

If you have not yet, please email the Galilee office or fill out the slip in the narthex at Church to let us know by this Sunday, August 23 if you would like to continue to receive offering envelopes. For those receiving envelopes, they will be mailed directly to your home.

Landscape Refresh Update

Good news – we are past the super dry/hot summer and are moving ahead with the upper Front Entry Refresh projects for 2026! Over the next couple of months, you will see changes in several areas in the front – from the entrance on Prospect to the driveway to the lower parking lot. The projects include tree removal/pruning/replacements and a cleaned-up emergency exit area on the NE corner. The front bed by the steps will be almost entirely refreshed with good soil and mulch, edging and low-maintenance and deer resistant trees, bushes, perennials and new concrete steps. Take note of a few “DEMO” projects to help us plan for next year’s projects closer to the building. We are testing deer repellant mechanisms. The red flashing lights by the front door are our 1st trial. We also will be installing a trial fence in front of the gas meter by the NE corner of the building. If we like this fence, we will install more permanent “intermittent” fencing with plantings to shield the utility area from view. And we have been debating whether or not to take down the very tall /wide arbor vitae’s that wrap around the NE corner. Our goals are to improve the curb appeal of the church and to have sustainable low-maintenance areas with plantings for the long term. Before we take them down, we have agreed to try a special type of pruning later this fall. So the detailed design plans for next year may change based on our demo projects. Please check out the narthex to see all the plans and be sure to talk with Nick, Tom, Penny or Karen to ask questions and to see how you can take advantage of great opportunities to help us bring this project to life – and perhaps honor/remember a loved one in the process!

Pear Wood Available

The four overgrown and aged pear trees (next to the upper parking lot edge by the front of the church) are coming down soon. Do you know any woodworkers who might be interested in some/all of this wood? We would be happy to trade wood for help during cutting while they select what they want. Or maybe to trade wood for some craftsmanship – something made from the wood to remember these original donations and/or help create some kind of plaque, frame or piece as a place for our Landscape Refresh Dedications. Let’s talk – looking for a win-win! Please contact Karen Buelow (262 215-1347) or anyone on the team as soon as possible.

Hope Center Meal Servers Needed

Fleece Blanket Distribution

The fleece blankets that have been made are being taken to Kim's Table on September 16 to be distributed. If you would like to join those distributing, please contact Deb Kohler.

El Salvador Delegation Survey

This winter Galilee Lutheran and others from the Greater Milwaukee Synod will send a delegation to El Salvador in January. As we look forward to this and future visits, we would like to learn more about who may be interested in participating or staying connected.
