WEEKLY NEWS

October 31, 2024

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday. Remember to turn those clocks back one hour and say an extra prayer for all the parents you know with kiddos!

In Father Tom’s sermon on Sunday, he emphasized the importance of allowing ourselves to be shaped into the image and likeness of Christ. That is work that can take a lifetime and, with the right planning, work that can still produce far after we are gone from this earth.

Just as our nurtured faith keeps us from “flying blind” through life, planned giving helps us be good stewards of the gifts God has given us, even after death. What we do with those gifts says a lot about the shaping that we’ve allowed our faith to have on the course of our lives. Not only that, but being proactive and deciding how we would like our worldly goods distributed will give us peace of mind and relieve our loved ones of the burden of those decisions.

As you prayerfully consider your pledge to our Walk in Love stewardship campaign, we hope you’ll see it as this year’s portion of the legacy that you plan on leaving one day. How does walking in the love of Christ shape your heart and keep you from flying blind with your resources? What does that look like this year? And what can you do to ensure that the blessings you’ve been given can have an impact beyond your lifespan?

If you would like to begin a conversation about remembering Good Shepherd with a legacy gift, we would be happy to talk with you and provide you with resources to help you discern the decisions to be made. Contact the church office to start the conversation and remember to make your Walk in Love pledge by November 17.
