Mission Moment: Breaking New Ground Changes Lives

In December of 2021, a mother and her children moved into one of LMM's Breaking New Ground (BNG) units following a stay in a local family shelter. After spending over two years getting back on their feet living in a renovated, affordable BNG unit, LMM is proud to share that this mother and her family are officially moving into their own single-family home!

Reflecting on her journey from moving into a BNG home, following her time in a shelter, to now being able to move into her own home, the mother was nearly in tears expressing how grateful she was that LMM "gave her a chance."

Digging Deeper with the We Raise Foundation

LMM is a proud grantee partner of the We Raise Foundation.

We Raise is supporting LMM's Workforce Development program through partnering with Elizabeth Stiles, LMM Academic Program Manager, in facilitating a participant observation study called Digging Deeper with Chopping for Change Students that will work to identify, strategize and address the key challenges male workforce development program participants experience during their reentry journey from incarceration to community reintegration.
