Preventing elder abuse, poverty awareness, new mayor takes office
Weekly News from LMM
Poverty Awareness Month
January is #PovertyAwarenessMonth, an initiative built to raise awareness around the more than 40 million Americans living in poverty. LMM advocates for and works with individuals to assist them in obtaining essentials such as housing & employment.
Elected Officials Sworn In
Congratulations to Mayor Justin Bibb and Ward 7 Councilwoman Stephanie Howse for officially being sworn into office earlier this week. We look forward to working with you on issues that matter most to our clients.
Preventing Elder Abuse and Neglect
LMM is grateful that late last year the Ohio General Assembly passed, and Governor Mike DeWine signed into law, Esther’s Law.
Esther’s Law allows residents at long-term facilities to have electronic monitoring in their rooms. LMM believes this legislation will help prevent older adult abuse while also providing peace of mind to families.
Click these links to send a note of thanks to Governor DeWine and State Senator Nickie Antonio for their leadership in advancing this legislation and commitment to preventing abuse and neglect among older adults.
