Earlier this week the Reentry Housing Committee released their study, 'A Never-Ending Sentence,' which highlights the impact of criminal conviction in project-based Section 8 housing tenant selection plans in Cuyahoga County. Local media outlets have picked up on this topic and are looking to LMM's Workforce Development Director, Malika Kidd, to speak to her lived experience of obtaining housing and employment post-incarceration. LMM Staff participates in U.S. Census 'Lunch & Learn'

LMM Staff at U.S. Census 'Lunch & Learn'

LMM staff gathered on Wednesday of this week for a 'Lunch & Learn' to better understand the importance of the U.S. Census, which formally begins on April 1st. Speakers from Cleveland Votes and the U.S. Census Bureau educated LMM staff on potential strategies for making sure 'hard to count' populations are counted, as well as the impact of an under-count. An under-count has the potential to greatly impact many of the individuals in the scope of who LMM serves through negative impacts on food stamps, Medicaid, Section 8 housing vouchers and money for schooling.
