Happy Holidays from LMM

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry wishes you and yours a wonderful holiday season!

Meeting Inclement Weather Needs

Winter weather can cause many challenges, especially for individuals in our community experiencing homelessness. One of the ways the Men's Shelter at 2100 Lakeside Ave. addresses these challenges is by opening the shelter for 24 hours once the weather reaches single digits or if there is a wind chill of -15 degrees.

In addition to the Men's Shelter at 2100 Lakeside, the City Mission Men's Crisis Center, Salvation Army Harbor Light, the West Side Catholic Center for Women, Family Promise of Greater Cleveland, and the Metanoia Project are also options for individuals experiencing homelessness to find shelter during this cold front.

Each Emerging Leader Grantee receives $15,000 over two years with $10,000 supporting the program and $5,000 supporting leadership development.

LMM Workforce Development Program Director, Malika Kidd, recently had the opportunity to speak with employees at Dolby on the Hiring Practices and Barriers to Employment panel through Visit.org, a company dedicated to social impact and connecting businesses with issues that they care about.

LMM is grateful to have experts like Malika and our Workforce Development team on staff who are knowledgeable on issues such as fair chance hiring and barriers to employment, and who can educate others on the importance of hiring individuals with criminal backgrounds.
