There is a special election in Ohio on August 8 to vote on State Issue 1. If passed, State Issue 1 would make it more difficult for Ohio residents to amend the Ohio constitution. These changes would make it harder for grassroots efforts to advance like those currently trying to raise the minimum wage and those aimed at reforming the redistricting process. Make sure you are prepared to vote by registering or updating your registration. The deadline to register is July 10; early voting begins on July 11.

There have been important changes to Ohio’s voter ID laws that could impact what you need to vote in the August 8 election!

Digital forms of ID are not accepted, and you can no longer use bills, bank statements, and other government documents. Under the new law, state ID cards are now FREE for all at the BMV. We strongly encourage you to read the following article in full, as it provides the entire list of acceptable and unacceptable forms of identification, the list of documents you’ll need to obtain a free state ID, and what you’ll need to register to vote online.
