Verizon Awards $75,000 to Workforce Development
We are happy to announce that LMM is the recipient of a $75,000 grant from Verizon to support our Workforce Development program!

The grant is part of a recent commitment of $335,000 from Verizon to four local nonprofits across the city to help further workforce development and digital inclusion. These efforts are part of Verizon’s responsible business plan, Citizen Verizon, for economic, environmental and social advancement.

Verizon’s commitment will help support these efforts and make a difference in the lives of Clevelanders facing hard times, who need a way to access education and experience to enter the workforce and succeed.

“At Verizon, we are all in for Cleveland and committed to supporting local organizations creating the transformative change that is moving the region forward,” Jessica Cohen, a Verizon Director of Community Engagement, said. “Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry is paving the way in workforce development and digital inclusion. Our investment will provide important resources to maintain and develop these critical programs.”

We look forward to putting this special grant to great use and continue to help our participants who are facing employment barriers. Thank you, Verizon!

Good Soil Church Supports BNG Campaign
This past Sunday as part of the Lutheran volunteer day "God's Work, Our Hands", members of Good Soil Church came to LMM's Breaking New Ground home on Edna Avenue to help beautify and landscape the yard. Good Soil's support in yard clean-up and planting brings LMM one step closer to opening the doors of the Edna House to a family exiting homelessness.

In addition to their help on the ground, Good Soil Church recently committed $10,000 to the Breaking New Ground Campaign. Thank you for the support, Good Soil!
