Mayoral Forum on Housing and Homelessness
We're less than a week away from the Cleveland Mayoral Forum on Housing and Homelessness! Co-hosted by nine homeless service providers and the League of Women Voters, this virtual forum will give the 2021 mayoral candidates an opportunity to share their vision for housing and ending homelessness in Cleveland.

Eviction Moratorium Extended
After impassioned advocacy by members of Congress and a short lapse between the eviction moratoriums July 31 expiration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Tuesday, August 3, that a limited moratorium would be put in place until October 3, 2021. This moratorium only covers renters in communities that are currently seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases.

In Ohio, 70 of the state’s 88 counties including Cuyahoga, Geauga, Portage, Medina, Lorain and Summit will be covered. LMM is grateful to see the moratorium extended as it will help limit a surge in demand for emergency shelter and is grateful to the National Low-Income Housing Coalition for their advocacy on behalf of housing and homeless services providers across the county.
