Getting Into "Good Trouble" through Civic Engagement
  

On August 19th at 5:30pm, LMM is hosting Getting Into "Good Trouble" through Civic Engagement: A Forum for Restored Citizens on Holding Elected Officials Accountable After the Ballot. The voter education forum will feature Judge Ronald Adrine, Cleveland Municipal Court (retired); Jennifer Lumpkin, Civic Engagement Strategy Manager with ClevelandVotes; Lana Mendis, LMM Employment Specialist and Chopping for Change alumni and will be moderated by Margie Glick, LMM's Director of Advocacy. 

The conversation will focus on the importance of voting, and how through advocacy, individuals can hold elected officials accountable after the election. This event is for restored citizens, and the organizations, faith partners and community members who support their return to active civic engagement To RSVP, email Margie Glick at [email protected] or simply tune in at https://www.facebook.com/LMMCleveland/
Culinary Arts Training Program: Apply NOW!

Culinary Arts Training Program socially distanced learning
LMM's Culinary Arts Training Program (CTP) is now accepting applications for Fall 2020. Here's what you need to know about CTP:
  • CTP is a 6-month program, offering ServSafe Certification in the first quarter. Students who graduate from the program will receive LMM's CTP Certificate, which is validated by the American Culinary Federation. LMM also offers an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality, which CTP students can pursue upon completion!
  • Classes meet Monday-Friday between 9am and 3 pm: lunch is provided!
  • The program is open to ANYONE ages 18 and up, and FREE to those that qualify for benefits (like SNAP).

VP of Housing & Shelter Named 2020 Fresh Innovator

LMM VP of Housing & Shelter, Michael Sering
Congratulations to LMM's VP of Housing & Shelter, Michael Sering, for being honored as one of the Cleveland Leadership Center's 2020 Fresh Innovators!

Michael is being honored as a Fresh Innovator for his lead on projects based around ending homelessness, including implementing a shared housing model, devising one of the only privately funded shallow subsidy programs in the country, working on bringing affordable 3D printed housing to Cleveland, and more!
