Director's Message
Can you believe we're already through the first two weeks of the school year? And what a great start it has been. All of the LBCS staff has enjoyed getting to know our new families and reconnecting with the families we've known for years. We hope your child is already coming home talking about some of the things they are learning and discussing in class. This weekend, ask about the Spanish led Mustang Round Up and how to be un invetigador . Also, ask your artists about making mistakes in art. We are so fortunate to have the community we do, and we're glad to be back together again!
Some reminders about pick up:
  • Thank you for waiting until 2:45 to line up (but feel free to park if you get here early)
  • Entering LBCS side (K-6th) - you must wait in the line, there are only two lanes, in and out. Passing people to get to the parking lot causes an unsafe situation for all. If you'd like to park, please enter through the Franklin side.
  • Entering Franklin side (7th & 8th + parking) - please drive the loop until a spot opens up. Once you find a spot, stay there. You may have to loop more than once (think airport pick up)
We are so thankful for the time we get with your children, and we value partnering with you to share the responsibility of educating each and every kid.
Have a wonderful weekend.

MYP Exploratory Donation
The MYP believes that developing whole student is essential. The core subjects including Design, Music, PE, and Art, are integral in achieving this goal.  Another opportunity MYP students have to learn and grow is through the Exploratory Classes offered each Friday afternoon.  These classes include options such as cooking, yoga, improv, sports, 3D printing, and more!
In order to fund these classes, MYP families are asked to donate $75.00 per semester or $150.00 for the whole year.
Please make your donation to our PTCwebstore

 PTC News
Our first PTC meeting is Wednesday,  September 12 at 8:15am in the library.  Many people ask why come to a PTC meeting?
-           Connect with other parents.
-           Be the first to hear about important news and upcoming events.
-           Have a voice in the activities and programs the PTC supports.
-           Volunteer and make a difference in our school community
We hope to see you there!

Our new addition!!

We hope you have all noticed the wonderful addition to our school this year!
Over the summer our brand new double drinking fountain and water bottle refill station was installed!  The fountain is amazing!  It is also refrigerated and filtered!
It is located at the door to the gym.  The kids are allowed to go refill their bottles at lunch and can ask permission at recess.
Please send your child with a reusable water bottle and we can help do our part as a school community to cut back on plastic waste!  In addition, cool, filtered water is a healthy choice for the kids!
Please talk to your kids about the new water bottle filler.  Let them know that it is a huge treat and also very expensive.  Please help reinforce proper use of the fountain and not to touch sensors with hands.  If they need assistance, they can ask the office.
This fountain was made possible by efforts from the 2018 Nature Bowl Team, the PTC and a generous grant from Raleys!  Please thank any of them if you see them!

ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE- PTC has funded our annual pledge drive!! Thank you PTC!!
