Midweek Lent Meal and Worship starts tonight

Join us this evening for Midweek Lent Vespers at 6:30 PM. Services will be held each Wednesday through April 9.

Come early for a simple Soup and Bread Supper, provided by different groups at MPLC. The meal will be offered from 5:30 - 6:15 PM.

This week, our Confirmation families will provide and serve the meal. Thank you to them!

All offerings given in midweek Lent services and in offering envelopes marked as such have been designated for Lutheran World Relief. When a disaster hits — whether it’s a drought, tsunami or civil war — Lutheran World Relief works over months and years to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to help people recover and adjust to new realities.

You can also give directly to Lutheran World Relief at this link.

Open Table - This Sunday, March 16

Open Table is a free meal served in our Fellowship Hall on the third Sunday of each month in a restaurant-style format. Dining guests are members, neighbors, and friends, with many returning month after month.

Volunteers and donors make this ministry happen, providing ingredients and cakes, setting up or cleaning up, waiting tables, or serving in the kitchen. To help make our next meal happen, click the link. New people are always welcome!

Our Amazon Wishlist has just been updated, making it even easier to donate some of our regularly-used supplies. Thank you for supporting this ministry!

An Afternoon of Music - Sunday, March 30

Experience an afternoon of captivating chamber music as Trio de Chats Noirs takes the stage at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM. This dynamic ensemble—featuring Rachel Velvikis (horn), Mark Fry (bass trombone/euphonium), and guest pianist Christopher Powell—brings an exciting program that blends classical elegance with jazz-inspired charm. Works by Bach, Brahms, Shostakovich, Gershwin and others.

Donations will be accepted to benefit Lutheran World Relief.

Dining Out Meet-up - April 4

Meet up with new and old friends from MPLC at the Waterfront Warehouse on Friday, April 4th at 6:00 PM. (Location is 3322 Sheridan Rd, Kenosha, WI) To be added to our group reservation, please sign up at the link below. (Everyone is responsible for their own meal and tip at this event.) Adult Ed Series Continues - "Front Matters" with Pastor Nathan

If you’ve ever wondered why the hymn numbers start at 239, how to navigate the different indexes of the hymnal, or what all that stuff in the first half is for—well, there’s so much more to the hymnal than just the hymns! Join Pastor Nathan for “Front Matters,” an exploration of the resources for worship contained in the front matter of those cranberry-colored ELWs. We’ll meet at 10:20 AM in Mygatt’s each Sunday through the end of March.

Easter Flower Sponsors

Easter Flowers may now be ordered! The plants will be displayed at MPLC during the Easter season worship services. Cost is $20/ea. Orders due by March 23.

Order forms available at the tops of the ramps in the Sanctuary.

Please reach out to Becky Litwin with any questions.

Pleasant Visitors Check In

Are you a Pleasant Visitor? Are you a Care Caller? Or are you someone with the gift of hospitality? There are members of our congregation who are unable to attend worship services regularly or are going through difficult seasons in their life. If you're one of the people currently helping to support someone—or if you know someone who could use this support—or if you're interested in starting to support someone—get in touch with Pastor Nathan.

We want to make sure that everyone who is part of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church knows that they belong and are connected to our worship, discipleship, and mission.

New Online Guestbook

Those who gather for worship online now have a way to “sign the guestbook” to let us know that you are worshiping with those who gather at the building! Click the button below to see the form (perhaps bookmark it, if you’re a regular online worshiper) or look for the link on the church website, in the YouTube video description, or in the post on Facebook.

This online guestbook will help us keep track of online worship involvement and make sure that everyone who worships with us, at the building or online, is connected to the MPLC community.

PHOTOS OF THE WEEK

Forty-two folks from MPLC visited the Civil War Museum together in Kenosha last Sunday in a Field Trip organized by the Beyond Welcome Committee. The group learned about the creation of the "Lost Cause" narrative after the Civil War in the American South, toured the museum exhibits, and enjoyed a theatrical presentation depicting the story of Caroline Quarlls.
