With Sympathy...
With sympathy: for Diane Blackmon, Laura & David, Evan, and Ellie Olson on the death of Dick Jonas on Feb. 16. Services will take place at Mt Pleasant Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 24, with visitation at 10:30 AM, service at 11:30 AM.
NEW & NOTEWORTHY
Matinee Movie Invitation - Thursday, Feb. 22
Donna and Craig Braaten invite you to join them to attend a matinee showing of "God & Country" this Thursday at 2:35 PM at the Renaissance Cinema in Sturtevant. This documentary promises "a look at the implications of Christian Nationalism and how it distorts not only our constitutional republic, but Christianity itself." Those who are interested will meet up after the show at the nearby Charcoal Grill for a drink and conversation.
Last Weekend to Order Easter Flowers
Easter Flowers may now be ordered! The plants will be displayed at MPLC during the Easter season worship services. Cost is $20/ea. Orders due THIS WEEKEND!

MPLC’s Open Table Is Growing
MPLC’s Open Table meal ministry is growing! Last weekend, 80 guests joined us for an Italian dinner and amazing desserts. Fellowship Hall was full of laughter and conversation. All of this is made possible by nearly 50 volunteers who set up, bake cakes, serve, do dishes & clean up. The volunteer sign up is available for the next meal – Sunday, March 17.
Each month MPLC members also support Open Table by donating ingredients and supplies needed.
 
There are two ways to make these donations:

  • Shopping lists are posted in the narthex each month. Members can pick up a list, shop for the item(s) and bring the items to church by the date noted.

  • There is also an Amazon.com shopping list which contains supplies and pantry items needed for Open Table. Items can be ordered and shipped directly to MPLC. There are many items that need to be restocked.

Bars, Brownies, and Cookie Donations Needed - Empty Bowls Racine
When is a cookie more than a cookie? When it's part of a "Bake Sale" table at an event to raise money to feed hungry people in Racine! Seeking donations of Bar cookies, Brownies, and other Cookies for the "Empty Bowls Racine" event to take place at Festival Hall in Racine on March 4. Proceeds will benefit HALO, Inc. and the Racine Food Pantry. Please bring your donations in a disposable bag/tin/box to MPLC by Sunday, March 3 at noon. Pastor Beth Ann will deliver them to the event site.
Wear Your Name Tag This Lent
Pastor Beth Ann and Pastor Sheila will be using names when distributing communion to worshippers wearing their nametags to the altar this Lent. Make a temporary nametag at the Welcome Desk, or request a new reusable nametag on the signup found there, too.
Paint an Empty Bowl Fundraiser at MPLC | Open to the Public | Feb. 25, 10:30 AM-12:30 PM
Paint a ceramic bowl for Racine's Empty Bowls event to help fight hunger in Racine! Sign up to reserve your bowl on Sunday, February 25, at 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Cost is $15 per bowl (which you DON'T keep! It's for the Empty Bowls event!).

Please bring your $15 to the event that day. MPLC kids can pay $5-15 per bowl, as you're able (with sponsors making up the difference).
