Prayer Concerns This Week
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgiving be made for everyone, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity."  1 Timothy 2:1-2

The Prayer family for the week is the Perkowski family. Let us be prayerfully aware of Frank and Sue as well as all our members and friends.

Prayer Concerns: Eleanor Johnson

Long term concerns: Joan Auge; Jacob Basilotto; Emma Burden; Tim Carroll; Jonathan Hofstetter; Ed Jung; Brett Lambie; Mary Ann Leach; Despina Koch; Mary McSweeney; Jacob Mendelsohn; Leigh Millar; Melissa Millar; Donna Monica; Dale Norby; Geoff Reilly; Bill Shoppell; Ed Shrum; Linda Lee Smith; Ralph Smith; Bill Williams; Ginny Zimmerman; those struggling with addictions and mental illness.

Military: Sarah Davis Brown; Morgan Daniels Colberg; Michael Fahey III; Robin Fiorentino; all those in our nation's service.

From Our Interim Pastor

Join us this Sunday, December 29 at 10 am for a simple service of lessons and carols. In this service we listen to scripture passages starting with ancient Hebrew Scriptures that describe God’s eternal plan of salvation leading to the birth of the Messiah. Each lesson is followed by a carol that helps us reflect on the passage’s message.

I will be reading a fictional story to the children, so if they want to wear the cozy, comfortable, (matching?) pajamas that grandma gave them for Christmas, that is ok this Sunday. Pillows and blankets will not be confiscated at the door, either.

Let’s enjoy these 12 days of Christmas as we praise God for God’s wonderful gift!

Year End Giving and Offering Envelopes
There is still a day left to make a gift to support Christ's work through the church in 2019. All 2019 gifts must be received in the church office by Tuesday, December 31 in order to be recorded this year on your giving statement for tax-deduction purposes.

The Session is very grateful to receive end-year gifts. Your offerings of your time, of your God-given talents, and of your money, help support all that we do at PPPC. Together, we are the Body of Christ. When we are giving, we are being the faithful people God calls us to be. Please contact Donna Ferry in the church office to find out more about giving options, especially donations of appreciated stock. Thank you for your ongoing generosity!

2020 offering envelope boxes with your name on them are now available in the Narthex to pick up. Please feel free to pick up a friend's box if you know they won't make it to church. Also, if you do not find a box and wish to receive one, please write your name on the pad or contact Donna in the office at  donna@pointpresbyterian.org

Using your numbered envelopes makes the counters' jobs easier and ensures proper contribution credit. Please note, your assigned envelope number may have changed.

Angel Tree Gifts Due
All Angel Tree gifts should be under the tree as soon as possible. The Deacons will be bringing them over to the Valentine House for their annual Epiphany party on Monday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m.Thank you to everyone who participated in this outreach.

2019 Annual Report
Information for the Annual Reports is due by Friday, January 10, 2020.

A concise overview of the great things accomplished here at PPPC in 2019 from each committee is to be included in the report. So many people gave of their time, effort and energy and the annual report is a way in which we recognize those who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the past year. Past annual reports have become handy tools in preparing for our future by helping us look back and see what has taken place at our church as well as what was accomplished.

If your organization maintains a separate treasury or bank account, these reports must include a financial reporting. Reports can be emailed directly to Kim Gaydos at mail@pointpresbyterian.org. Call or email the Church office if you would like a digital version of the 2018 report. Reports will be ready for the congregation on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in preparation for the Congregational Meeting scheduled for January 26.
From the Personnel Committee
Youth Ministry Banner
The New Beginnings process revealed to us that as a community of faith, Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church identifies Ministry to Youth as a high priority.

The Personnel Committee is seeking to fill a part-time position to coordinate our youth activities. This person would seek to keep our young people involved in our mission while helping to deepen their walk with their Lord. We would love to talk and share ideas with anyone who may feel God calling them to be part of the “village it takes to raise a child” in the faith. Please talk to anyone on the Personnel team if you can help make this vision a reality.

A special thank you to Nancy Stout, this year's coordinator, who put in many hours making sure everything was just right.
