Update from the PNC
The PNC is meeting regularly and is on schedule in the call for our next Pastor. As you may recall, outside the office is the list of "Our Journey during the time of transition" with items completed as well as what still needs to occur. The PNC has conducted and continues to conduct interviews with candidates over Zoom.

Your prayers for wisdom and discernment are especially appreciated during this time. We are grateful to the PNC for not allowing the pandemic to get them off task. May the Lord continue to faithfully lead and provide for our church.
PPPC Seeks Sexton
PPPC is seeking a responsible individual to fill a year round, part-time position as a Sexton to care for the church building and Annex, keeping them clean and in an orderly fashion at all times. A candidate must be a self-starter and a team player.

If you, or someone you know, might be interested in learning more about this position for approximately 20 hours per week, please call Jim McGuire at 908-783-7193, or email him at fox2124@hotmail.com. He will be happy to discuss the job description and daily schedule with you.
IHN Arriving
While we are social distancing, we can still support the homeless families who are part of the Interfaith Hospitality Network program and staying at the Day Center at 407 Lexington Ave., Toms River (just past St. Joseph R.C. Church on Hooper Ave., going south).

For the week of August 6-9, we once again do not need to supply overnight volunteers. Our mission is to bring cooked dinners/dessert for each night and shop for miscellaneous needs that the families might have (i.e. diapers, formula, juice, fruit, etc).

If you will volunteer to take one evening meal, please call the office (732-899-0587) or Barbara Reusch (732-349-2792) to let us know which night and your menu.

Thank you for your invaluable help in this important ministry in Ocean County.
COVID Care Corner
So here we are again worrying about numbers going up around COVID. Many states are experiencing numbers like we had back in April. We know what that particular situation looks like and it’s scary.

So what do we do now? We stay vigilant and smart. We wash our hands and keep distant from folks. And maybe most importantly, we wear our masks. I read an article in the Press today that explained just how masks help us. Not only do masks protect others it’s been found that masks protect us. Research has found that masks can diminish the viral load that we may receive if we encounter someone with COVID. People who receive a high viral load tend to get sicker and those who do not get such a high dosage of the virus may actually not have any symptoms at all. So, wear that mask!

So, don’t panic at the increasing cases. NJ is doing a good job right now. Stay smart and don’t get lax. We’ve got this! Until next time, eat healthy, stay happy, wash your hands and WEAR YOUR MASK!!
