From Our Interim Pastor
The boardwalk is coming alive just in time for the holiday weekend. However, our Governor keeps reminding us that indoor gatherings are still a lot riskier than outdoor activities.

So we are taking the month of July to continue preparing for the integration of both virtual and limited in-person worship starting in August, God willing. Maintaining a safe physical distance with a new seating configuration, we will be able to accommodate up to 49 people in the sanctuary.

The following information may be helpful as you determine whether your worship would be more faithful from home or in the sanctuary.

  • You will be asked to enter the sanctuary from the main entrance on Bay Avenue or using the ramp off the parking lot.
  • Gone are the friendly handshakes at the door.
  • A printed order of worship will be waiting for you on the available seats.
  • Wearing face coverings throughout the service will be required.
  • Gone are the full-throated sounds of praise with singing.
  • Congregational vocal participation will be limited (be ready to try other less strenuous options).
  • Passing of the peace will not involve physical contact (except in family groups).
  • Children will not come forward for children’s sermon.
  • Offering plates will be available at the entrance and exit for your convenience but an offering will not be received as a part of worship. Electronic contributions are gladly received still.
  • Worshippers will be dismissed in an orderly fashion keeping physical distance.
  • Restrooms will be available with new instructions clearly posted.

More information will be shared in the coming weeks. Be safe as we celebrate our nation’s birthday!

Peace!

Pastor Osy

Volunteers Need for Worship
Ushers Needed: We are looking for volunteers to serve as ushers once in-person worship services can resume. Special training will be provided to ensure everyone’s safety in compliance with CDC guidelines. Please review those recommendations to make sure you will not be putting yourself or others at risk before you volunteer to help. Contact Diane Manzo at 732-581-1882 or by email dmanzo.navesinkco@gmail.com if interested.

Technological Help Needed: In order to produce a competent service that allows for both in-person and remote participation, new equipment is being purchased and we will need several people to be trained to operate audio/visual equipment. We anticipate needing possibly up to 3 people per service to provide technical support. Please contact Peter Farwell at 908-675-7287or by email pfarwell@aol.com (with subject line: PPPC Tech Team) if this is an area that interests you.
News from St. Mary’s Emergency Food Project
St. Gregory's Pantry
Thanks to your support, St. Mary’s Emergency Food Project has accomplished its mission of providing food for the community during the absence of St. Gregory’s Pantry.

St. Gregory’s Pantry will be reopening on Monday July 6, so the Emergency Food Project will make its last scheduled food deliveries on Wednesday July 1, with emergency deliveries as needed until St. Gregory’s reopens (732 892-8105). The Emergency Food Project will continue to accept food donations until Sunday June 28. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel at the outpouring of support this community has shown. Without your generous donations, both monetary and in nonperishable items, we would not have been able to feed families and individuals who desperately needed help during this terrible pandemic. Together we will have provided three months of continuous service to those struggling with food insecurity in our neighborhoods. St. Mary’s will continue to deliver over 200 hot meals weekly through its Mary’s Table feeding ministry. The number of meals served has doubled during the pandemic, and donations to Mary’s Table are always much appreciated.
Point Beach Prep has very limited openings for fall. If you would like more information,
please contact Devlin House at 732-701-9900.

Memories from Last Year
A year ago our Deacons and Elders celebrated a potluck dinner giving thanks to all those who were incoming, outgoing, as well as those who were continuing to serve.

A year later their service and leadership is even more appreciated. We are grateful to God for each of them answering the call to serve and by serving both our Church and community with wisdom and love especially through a pandemic.
