  • Candidates for Vestry must be confirmed communicants "in good standing" of St. James' Episcopal Church.
  • Nominees should be willing to carry out Vestry responsibilities, including taking a leadership role in the parish, being regularly involved in and familiar with parish activities and events, attending Vestry retreats, and attending regular Vestry meetings.

Nominations must be received by: Monday, March 20
Spring/Summer Foyer Groups
Foyer Groups (from the French word meaning "hearth or home") provide opportunities to meet and connect with new people while enjoying a meal or an event together. Meetings take place in the homes of group members but please do not be concerned about the size of your home or your culinary skills. Our focus is on friendship and fellowship. We all have so much fun together and there is a lifetime camaraderie that will be treasured forever.
Easter Lilies
If you wish to dedicate lilies to the memory or thanksgiving of a loved one, please email: info@stjamesleesburg.org or call the church office at (703) 777-1124 by noon on Monday, April 3. You can make a gift online for Easter lilies; simply choose "Altar Flowers" from the dropdown menu on the link below. Or you can send a check to the office and note "Easter Lilies" in the memo line.
Easter Egg Candy Donations
We are now accepting individually-wrapped (non-chocolate) candy for the egg hunt following the Easter Sunday morning service. Please drop off your donations in the Narthex or at the church office by Tuesday, April 4th.
Women's Brunch and Guest Speaker
The Women’s Ministry is hosting a service brunch on Saturday, March 25 from 9am to 11am in the Parish Hall. The brunch will be potluck so bring your favorite brunch item to share. We will provide drinks.

Our speaker at the brunch will be the outreach director for The Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS). We also will be collecting items to support LAWS. The shelter at LAWS is in need of the following newly purchased items: K Cups, non-see thru make-up/toiletry bags, backpacks, individually wrapped snacks/candies, gift cards for Walmart, Target, Amazon, Shell Gas Stations, grocery stores, toilet paper, tissues.

In addition, they need gently used items for the LAWS thrift shop, The Resourceful Woman. We will organize these donations and they will be taken to the shop after the brunch. See the LAWS website for information on what they accept.

Also, mark your calendars for Sunday, April 23. We will start a 5-week series on mothers in the Bible from the book Bible Women. These sessions will be facilitated by Ellen Pinson. If you want to get a head start on the reading, the mothers we will be discussing are Eve, Sarah and Hagar, Samson’s mother, Salome, the mother of the sons of Zebedee, and Mary, mother of Jesus.

If you have questions or need child care for any of these gatherings, please call Cindy Helba at 703-447-1614 or email her at cynthiahelba@gmail.com.
Adult Forum in Lent
The Parish Hall | February 26 - March 26 | 9:00 – 9:45 a.m.
Join us on Sunday mornings as as we begin a new series “Life Transformed: The way of Love in Lent.” Each week, we will turn, learn, and pray our way through the desert, toward resurrection life with Christ.

Stations of The Cross
The Church | Wednesdays, March 1 - 29 | 12 – 1 p.m.
Parishioners and guests may make their own pilgrimage along the Via Dolorosa, or “Way of Sorrows,” during Lent 2023. The Stations of the Cross depict the final hours (or Passion) of Jesus and the devotion commemorating the Passion. The Way of the Cross booklets will be available in the narthex for self-guided pilgrimages.
Moms' Group
The new St. James Women’s Ministry wants to include women of all ages in our activities. One of the items on our agenda is the formation of a spiritual and practical group for mom’s of pre-school and school age children. We envision this group having regular meetings to hear expert speakers on chosen topics of interest and share parenting tales and tips, as well as several Mom’s Night Out events. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Kathleen Hughes, khughes868@aol.com, 703-314-3590.
Men's Service Ministry Book Study
The Men’s Service Ministry (MSM) meets on Mondays at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish House. The MSM will be reading and discussing various Old Testament Characters.

All men of the parish are invited to join us as we examine Jonah, Hannah, Abraham, Elijah, Moses and others during the season of Lent. Guests and visitors are always welcome!
