THIS SATURDAY
9:30am
Join us for our Shabbat morning services every week from 9:30am-10:30am. Our one-hour service is rooted in the traditional chanting of prayers, but includes English readings and song as well so that all can be included. (This service does not include a Torah service.) The service is a lovely, meditative, and peaceful way to start the day. Whether we have five or fifty, we'll be mixing traditional chanting with songs both old and new tunes to create a prayerful space for connection. Also, we will have a Torah Reading along with two baby namings (see the Rabbi's email tomorrow for more information).
10:30am
Torah study with bagels/donuts and coffee will begin at 10:30am and go until Noonish.
Our Torah
Study is a vibrant exchange of ideas about the we
ekly Torah portion, bringing both traditional commentary and recent scholarship to bear on the text. It is a lively salon style, participatory Torah study where all are welcome, and no background or Hebrew is needed.

Selichot/Teshuvah Workshop
Saturday, Sept. 21 | 7:00pm
Selichot
, "songs of forgiveness," marks the beginning of the High Holy Days. We will consider where we have "missed the mark" of living up to our ideals, considering how we can suffer less, live more joyously, and connect more fully with others and with God. This service of ancient and modern prayers has been a focus of Jewish music, its beautiful melodies balanced with quiet moments of reflection.

High Holy Days!
NO TICKETS REQUIRED
Temple Sinai invites you to share the
High Holy Days with us this year.
We don't require tickets and all are welcome. Our service combines Hebrew and English readings and songs, traditional chants and popular songs, as well as time for personal prayer and reflection. Our music is accompanied by a variety of instruments and our choir and cantorial soloist sing some of the high points of Jewish music. Our egalitarian, participatory service is in the best traditions of Reform Judaism.

SOCIAL ACTION
CAMPAIGN
Across North America, Jewish communities are taking action and raising money to help those in detention, separated from their families, and those seeking legal asylum. In visits to the border, one need comes up over and over: legal help. In order to help with this, the Jewish communities in Vermont are joining together for a campaign from now to Yom Kippur to raise money for three organizations (one local, one national, one focused on the southern border) that are providing legal support and bail for those in need. Click the buttons below for more details about this campaign, or to DONATE today!

Award-winning writer Matti Friedman's tale of Israel's first spies has all the tropes of an espionage novel, including duplicity, betrayal, disguise, clandestine meetings, the bluff, and the double bluff-but it's all true.
