Services on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas Eve at Trinity

Some of our youngest members, and some not quite so young, helped to announce the glad tidings to all with their pageant.

The candlelight service of Holy Eucharist at 10:30 p.m. was filled with joyful music by the choir and organ, in addition to harp and vocal solos.

Mother Jenn: Listening for the Word Made Flesh

Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope that this season brings you the opportunity both to proclaim the good news of Christ’s coming to us and to ponder the meaning of the season in your hearts. Christmas is also the season to live into the words of the Magnificat. I am thankful for the many outreach ministries in which Trinitarians participate. The world needs your generous and loving hearts. Giving to others is a spiritual discipline which reminds us whose we are! If you are inclined to make New Year’s resolutions, perhaps this is the year to resolve to lift up the powerless and the poor.

This coming Sunday we will be exploring the meaning of the Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us. What does it mean that the Word became flesh, speaking to us directly?

We are still looking forward to more nominations for Vestry, Endowment Board, and Convention delegates. All of these positions are critical for the health of Trinity. If you aren’t sure about whether or not you bring the right gifts to one of these positions, please come talk with me. It is important that we have diverse voices in the Vestry, Endowment Board, and at Convocation and Convention.

Finally, there is still time to turn in your pledge cards before we finalize the budget. We are working toward a balanced budget, and that can only happen if we know the pledging landscape in advance. Please prayerfully consider turning in your pledge card, if you haven’t already.

May all the blessings of the season be yours!

—Mother Jenn+

When the song of the angels is stilled,

when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home,

when the shepherds are back with their flocks,

the work of Christmas begins:

to find the lost,

to heal the broken,

to feed the hungry,

to release the prisoner

to rebuild the nations,

to bring peace among the people,

to make music in the heart.

Miqra Is Happening Soon Register Now

 ...

Here's what the youth are saying about Miqra:

  • It is a lot of fun and there is so much to experience!
  • I know it might sound weird to read the Bible, but that is only a fraction of what we do. We sing, dance, play games, and the food is amazing!
  • We do a bunch of fun activities that help you create a deeper connection with your faith — while still being hands-on and crafting creatively!
  • It is an event full of community, games, music, and faith.
  • Miqra is a place of safety and community.
  • Miqra is a fan-favorite!
  • Some of my fondest memories are from youth events and I hope to share some with you!
  • The people there are amazing!

TEST Tidbits: Prayer for the New Year

...

The following was adapted from a prayer used at the COP27 Climate Summit by a group of Jesuits who are advocates for creation care.

...

God of all blessings, the universe sings of your glory. Deepen our gratitude for all you have made and awaken in us a renewed commitment to care for your creation and for each other. Inspire our leaders with openness to listen to those most affected by climate change (and its unwelcome disasters). Give them courage to act urgently and wisely, so that our common home may be healed and restored and that all people, and the generations to come, may delight in this creation. Amen

...

Earth Steward Action: May all of us, through the strength of the Holy Spirit, renew our personal commitment to caring for our earth.
