Introduction of New Associate Pastor and Youth Director

WPUMC Members and Friends:

The WPUMC One Board and I are happy to introduce to you our new Associate Pastor and Youth Director, Rev. Loren Richmond Jr.

Loren is ordained clergy in the Disciples of Christ Church, and will be serving Wash Park UMC under appointment and supervised by me and our District Superintendent. Over the last month, he has met over several hours of interviews with me, the SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee), and the One Board. We are excited to welcome Loren to our team. He brings a wide range of church experience with him, including time as youth pastor, solo pastor, church planter, and most recently, hospital chaplain.

Loren's first Sunday with us will be Rally Day, September 11th--  Join us for worship and stay afterwards for a BBQ in the courtyard to welcome Loren and his family to WPUMC!

-Rev. Sandi Dillon

Hey, I’m Loren Richmond Jr., and I’m excited to be coming on board with Rev.

Sandi and the rest of the team at Wash Park UMC. My wife Corinna and I just

celebrated 18 years of marriage. We have two kids, Lexi, who is 10, and Jaxson

who is 4. We live in Thornton and have lots of family in the Denver metro. Corinna

is an ER nurse at St. Anthony North Hospital. I have an MDiv from Phillips

Seminary and an MBA from Hope International University. When I’m not at work,

I enjoy hosting a podcast, leading a food pantry nonprofit, running and biking, and

hanging out with my family.

There are lots of ways that you can offer your gifts in service to our congregation – looking for a way to be more involved at WPUMC? Here are a few opportunities:

*Ushering – online or in-person! We schedule individuals for a specific Sunday a month for their ushering “shift”. Online ushering doesn’t require you to be in the building, but to engage with online worship participants. In-person ushering requires your presence, and includes greeting people and helping with offering and communion. Email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

*Making Meals! Do you love to cook or offer people food? We coordinate meals for families with new babies, people who have health concerns, and other times when a meal seems to offer a tangible sign of love to our church family. To help out, email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

*Sunday Morning Liturgist! If you’d like to help offer a greeting to our worship participants, lead the call to worship and read the scripture, email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

If there is something specific you’d like to share, or if you are interested in a certain area of leadership, please contact Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

The arrangements cost $45 ($35 for seniors) and you can take them home or give them away after service. We just ask that you return the vases to the Tea Kitchen so that we can reuse them. Make checks out to WPUMC and put altar flowers in the memo line or pay via Venmo @Michelle-Hoskins-17.
Please enter the occasion or person to be honored in the My Comment field after you click Sign Up.
