Prophets of Our Past: Encouragement
Haggai 2: 7-9

WPUMC Families: With mask mandated being changed and lifted in our area, we wanted to update you on our church and building policies. For now, we will continue to require masks for 2 years old and older in our building, preschool and sanctuary. This may change in the weeks and/or months ahead, but until we are confident that we are being as safe as possible for the most vulnerable among us, we'll keep masked.

Thanks for loving your neighbor while in our building, and thanks for your patience and understanding! Hang in there--I'm grateful to be on this pandemic journey with such a caring congregation.

New Baby Meal Team - Volunteers Needed!

Wash Park United Methodist Church and Preschool are organizing a team of meal providers from our church and preschool communities that would be willing to offer meals to preschool families that are welcoming new babies into their home. All of you know that when a new baby arrives, life can get hectic. We'd like to make sure that all of our families with new babies feel supported and cared for with the delivery of a meal or two.

If you are interested in joining this team to provide meals--please contact Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.
One of our church members, Ben Fiedler, is looking for three volunteers to help cook dinner every two weeks at the St. Francis Center Warren Residences, located at the old Warren Methodist Church.

Come cook with the residents Wednesday, February 23rd, from 3-6 pm and help build community at this NEW permanent apartment building for Denver's previously homeless. A donation of $25 is requested to cover the cost of ingredients. If you know someone unable to donate but that would still like to take part, let Ben know. Please text/call him or email at 303-399-6999. benafiedler@gmail.com. Please include your phone number for contact purposes.
There are lots of ways that you can offer your gifts in service to our congregation – looking for a way to be more involved at WPUMC? Here are a few opportunities:
*Ushering – online or in-person! We schedule individuals for a specific Sunday a month for their ushering “shift”. Online ushering doesn’t require you to be in the building, but to engage with online worship participants. In-person ushering requires your presence, and includes greeting people and helping with offering and communion. Email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

*Making Meals! Do you love to cook or offer people food? We coordinate meals for families with new babies, people who have health concerns, and other times when a meal seems to offer a tangible sign of love to our church family. To help out, email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

*Sunday Morning Liturgist! If you’d like to help offer a greeting to our worship participants, lead the call to worship and read the scripture, email Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org.

There are lots of other ways to volunteer at WPUMC – if there is something specific you’d like to share, or if you are interested in a certain area of leadership, please contact Rev. Sandi at pastor@washparkumc.org
