As we continue to explore in prayer and conversation who God is calling us to be and serve at Zion, we remember what we proclaim every week in worship: "Everyone is welcome here!" By being open to the Spirit's lead and listening to the voices in our community, we are excited to share two new ministry projects that, we pray, will welcome people into our midst.

First, we are committed to partnering with the ELCA on the ELCA Votes initiative. We want to encourage faithful and nonpartisan voter participation and set an example of positive civic engagement for the young people in our congregation and community leading up to (but not exclusive to) the general election in November. If you are interested in serving on the planning team for this project, please call or e-mail Pastor Potter .

Second, we are thrilled to partner with families of Zion school alumni to connect with families in the community (and beyond) through The Lions' Den , a homeschool co-op for the 2020-2021 school year. This initiative, enthusiastically approved by our Council, will provide a cooperative network of families using Florida Virtual School to homeschool their children, and give Zion an opportunity to provide religious education and spiritual support virtually. We are so grateful for the alumni who reached out and expressed this need, hoping that Zion could minister to a new generation of children and their families in this way. For more information, or to join the steering team for The Lions' Den, call or e-mail Cantor Schmidt .

Weekly Life Verse & Tip for "Telling the Story"
If you're tuning in to our Sunday broadcasts or following us on Facebook, you have heard Pastor Potter give us a Life Verse to meditate on during the week. The verse is posted to our Facebook page each week.

One of the ways you can "tell the story" of what God is doing at Zion and in your life is by liking, commenting on, and sharing Zion's Facebook posts live broadcasts on your own social media profiles . Share the Life Verse of the Week. Tell your Facebook friends how a particular sermon touched your heart or how much you appreciate the peace of Wednesday prayer.

(This works! A recent Facebook post of ours was shared by 10 people to their respective Facebook pages and reached just shy of 1,700 people. Let's work together to use these powerful tools to share the Gospel!)
Where Your Generosity Goes

Just yesterday, Dr. Ted Greer, Jr. (the CEO of HOPE South Florida) published the following: Between the months of March and June of this year, HOPE South Florida served 29,948 hot meals and 2,650 mobile showers. They were also able to provide housing assistance and case management to 130 homeless families and veterans.

Your financial gifts helped to reach these incredible goals! Thanks be to God for giving us a spirit of generosity!
YEP Connect is on summer break until Friday, August 7th. Thank you for your continued support of this ministry!
