A Letter from David Clancy, our Congregation Council President

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

One of the great joys and responsibilities of being part of any group is the chance to gather periodically, consider where we’ve been, and dream about where we will go in the future. This combined joy and responsibility is even more important when it begins and ends with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am inviting your participation in this year’s Annual Meeting of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, to be held on Sunday. June 14, 2020, beginning at 12:15 p.m.

Our constitution requires that we meet within 45 days of the new fiscal year on July 1, 2020 to accept the annual report and approve the proposed annual budget for 2020-2021. Since we are unable to meet in a large gathering, the Congregation Council has approved convening our Annual Meeting on Zoom. We are grateful that such technology exists to enable continued ministry together.

We are beginning with a clean slate for the month of June, hoping that prayers for many have been answered. If you would like names included on the Prayer List for June, please e-mail Cantor Kurt Schmidt or submit a prayer request on our website.
Let's Play Charades!
(Quarantine Edition)

Our Youth Empowerment Project is meeting virtually each week to stay connected. Last week, we had such a good discussion on the Parable of the Sheep and Goats, and how we can engage with the marginalized in the community, we didn't even get to charades! So, we're playing this week!

If you know of any students entering 9th-12th Grades, please invite them to join us on Zoom. They should contact Cantor Kurt Schmidt for the meeting password (in order to keep the Zoom meeting secure).
"Holy Grounds" continues at Noon on Sunday, May 31st.
The website for Zoom is www.zoom.us/join

About Those Pictures We've Been Asking For...

We need your pictures as part of our new church management software. Until we can take semi-professional pictures in person, please  e-mail us  your best family picture and pictures of individual family members. If your best picture is not digital, you can mail it to the church and we will scan it and mail it back to you.

If you're a long-time Zion member, we've got plenty of old directories that we can peruse for pictures. Don't let this happen to you!
