from HOPE South Florida

Thanks to the generosity of several Zion households and Thrivent, we were able to send a check for $800 (which will be doubled) and $250 in meats and supplies for upcoming shared meals to our ministry partners at HOPE South Florida.

Pastor Pery Canan, the VP for Shared Meals & Mobile Showers, wrote: "You made my day with this beautiful expression of generosity! Thank you for coming alongside us in service to our families, veterans, and individuals."

Dr. Ted Greer, HOPE South Florida's CEO, wrote: "God bless you Kurt and the Zion Church Family for your kind generosity. These funds will go a long way in helping to meet the ongoing and increasing needs of the homeless and more recent, families impacted by COVID-19...Please express our sincere gratitude to the church family."

Special thanks to those who gave offerings for this appeal. If you'd still like to give, you can choose HOPE South Florida on our online giving form.

We are the Church together, for the sake of the world.

May 2020 Prayer List Available

You can download the prayer list by clicking the button above or visiting our website. We encourage you to submit your prayer requests for prayer by the entire community. Also, we are continuing to pray for households by name, as well as congregations in the Florida-Bahamas Synod.
When it's time for us to return to the sanctuary for worship, you can help us continue to spread the Gospel to people near and far. We need to upgrade our equipment to properly share the worship from our larger worship space. What we're using now works in a smaller space, but larger spaces call for a better camera that integrates with our existing sound system.

We need to purchase a camera ($500) and a tablet ($250) to control the camera (via its proprietary app). Both of these specific items have been enthusiastically recommended by pastors in our conference who are actually using the equipment now. Because we're able to use our existing sound system, we don't need to purchase additional sound equipment.

Our livestreaming currently reaches between 250-350 people per event, including several of our own members who are homebound. We know this number will continue to grow. Please prayerfully consider blessing our shared ministry. You can choose to give online by selecting "Worship Technology" as the fund to receive your contribution.
YEP is continuing to meet virtually each week for a time of connection, discussion, and brainstorming. If you know of any students entering 8th grade or already in high school, please invite them to join us on Zoom using the Meeting ID above. They should contact Pastor David Potter or Cantor Kurt Schmidt for the meeting password (in order to keep the gathering secure).
