CMA Continues Opposition During New Vaccine Hearings - Outcome Unclear

vax.png

The CMA continues its participation in a statewide coalition of healthcare and business organizations that are opposed to attempts by some members of the Ohio General Assembly to prohibit vaccination requirements by employers.

Following last week’s failure of HB 435, the Ohio House of Representatives moved the bill from the Health Committee to the Commerce and Labor Committee and held new hearings this week.

In addition to participating in the vaccine coalition, the CMA has reached out to express our concerns and offer to be a resource to Central Ohio’s only legislator on the Commerce and Labor Committee, Representative Mark Fraizer from Licking County.

The core issues remain unchanged. Some legislators are still seeking a “compromise“ that would incorporate some level of exemptions into any vaccine mandate. The next steps and outcome for this legislation is uncertain

COTS ThingCOTS Ventilator Distribution

When COTS' 36-county Zone 2 hospital partners had an emergent need for ventilators during the Delta phase of the pandemic, COTS staff organized the delivery of over 200 ventilators to a central location.

Once the ventilators arrived, teams of healthcare volunteers worked to unbox and assemble them and coordinate distribution so that frontline healthcare staff can safely and expertly care for their patients.
