First Made for Medicine Session a Hit with Students

Learning on the weekend is not most kids’ idea of fun, but the group of 6th and 7th graders that piled into the CMA this past Saturday are not most kids.

Check out this blog to learn more about and see photos from the CMA's first-ever session in their pilot program, Made for Medicine, designed to support and increase the number of African American or Black students interested in the field of medicine.

Legislative Updates - HOM Plans for the Coming Months

The CMA participates in the physician organization coalition known as the “House of Medicine." HOM has organization leaders and lobbyists from the OSMA and includes statewide specialty society organizations, as well as a few local medical societies. At the October meeting of the HOM, there was a general agreement that vaccine mandates and re-districting/re-apportionment efforts had taken up a significant amount of legislative time this fall. It is expected that will be more attention in the coming months on issues related to scope of practice, prescription medications, healthcare coverage, and access, etc.

For any information about a particular piece of legislation of interest to you, please feel free to contact CMA public policy consultant, Malcolm Porter at [email protected]
