Falcone Update from Dr. Falcone with Dr. Andrew Thomas, Dr. Joseph Gastaldo, & Dr. John Weigand

Dr. Falcone is back this week with another COVID update. This time he is joined by Dr. Andrew Thomas, Dr. Joseph Gastaldo, and Dr. John Weigand for a terrific conversation about where Ohio is at with COVID cases, why vaccination is more important than ever, and meeting people where they are at.

Update: HB 248 - Vaccination Restriction Legislation

This week the Ohio House Health Committee took testimony for several hours before adjourning the committee meeting without considering any amendment, nor taking a vote on the bill. Physician, healthcare, public health, and employer groups stand in strong opposition to

this bill.

The Speaker of the House has announced his intention to convene all interested parties to discuss possible amendments.  The bill will not be considered again until at least the middle of September when the General Assembly returns for full legislative sessions.

The CMA's Women in Medicine Community is meeting this Sunday, August 29th, at Dublin Coffman Park for Yoga, meditation, and brunch. This event goes from 9-Noon and Dr. Bonnie Pugh, who is also a 200-hr registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, will lead the yoga and meditation.

The Columbus Medical Association and affiliates (COTS and the PCC) have joined together to form a local political action committee (PAC) that raises funds to support elected officials who are supportive of our work. 

RSVP today to our annual PAC Fundraiser on Monday, September 20th, 6 - 7:30 pm. Commissioner Kevin L. Boyce has been invited by the committee o discuss the pandemic response, disaster/emergency planning and local healthcare equity issues.
