CMA Physicians and Affiliate Program Leaders Meet with Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin

Last week a small group of CMA physicians, as well as the program leaders of the CMA's Physician Care Connection and the Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus, met with Council President Hardin. The meeting was an opportunity to help the Council President understand the CMA's collective efforts to support community work to systemically address social determinants of health among Central Ohio's most vulnerable citizens.

Medicare MIPS Report on Physician Compensation

This month the CMS released a report reviewing physician compensation under the Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). A summary from the report:

Analysis of CMS data shows that final scores were generally high and at least 93 percent of providers earned a small positive adjustment in 2017 through 2019, with the largest payment adjustment in any year being 1.88 percent. Median final scores were well above the performance threshold across each of the 3 years. About 72 to 84 percent of providers earned an exceptional performance bonus, depending on the year

CMA is excited to announce the new membership of the physicians at Central Ohio Urology Group!

The physicians at COUG would like to share that their new Robotic Surgery Institute was recently the site of one of the first robotic prostatectomies in the nation to be performed at an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and the first in Central Ohio. There are less than five ASCs in the country currently offering robotic urologic surgeries like prostatectomy. The prostate cancer patient was able to go home the same day as the robotic surgery.
